Job Description
The Royal Free London NHS Foundation Trust has a vacancy for a Band 6 Cardiac Physiologist (CRM) based on the Barnet Hospital site. The post holder will work predominantly in the acute hospital setting with some requirements to work at one of the Trust's community cardiology services. We offer an extensive range of acute healthcare service at Royal Free Hospital, Barnet Hospital, Chase Farm hospital and Edgware community centre. We are a teaching and training department, you will highly benefit from on-going training in specialised areas and dedicated monthly device training session. Applications are invited from enthusiastic well motivated individuals with proven practical experience at Band 5 cardiac physiologist level or hold a BSc Clinical Physiology (or equivalent). We expect you to be independent and confidently perform cardiac implantable device checks, be able to work as a team in a device only cardiac catheterisation lab. You should be able to recognise cardiac rhythm and provide a comprehensive and accurate report to enable clinical decisions. Experience in complex device follow up and implant will be considered. Your role will also involve holding the Inpatient physiologist bleep which require you to perform inpatient pacemaker checks, remote follow up, device admin responsibilities and resolving patient technical queries. To be working towards a specialist role in the fields of CRM and to develop competence in clinical supervision and be able to act as a clinical supervisor Responsible for performing and/or supervising medically unsupervised stress testing ensuring appropriateness of the test prior to commencing; analysing the acquired information and terminating the test when appropriate to ensure best possible results and patient safety. To successfully fulfill the role you will be a supportive team player. You will need to be flexible and be able to work under pressure. The ability to demonstrate effective communication skills.
