As an Application Developer, you'll contribute to the design of all web-based applications to complement our current core system and continually improve the performance of our business applications. Key responsibilities \t * Design and develop web-based applications to complement our current core system, applications to comply with company standards. \t * Ensure that internally developed applications are tested in line with end user requirements and best practice \t * Support and maintain existing applications developed by the Application Development Team \t * Contribute to the ongoing maturity of the IT software infrastructure within the business by ensuring that latest technologies are continually being considered and adopted \t * Continually develop own skills to help increase overall capability of the team \t * Actively contribute to team discussions and decisions \t * Contribute in an appropriate manner to peer reviews Essential skills & experience \t * Excellent communication skills \t * Excellent problem solving skills \t * Ability to work as part of a team as well as individually \t * Ability to deliver within given timescales and constraints \t * Knowledge and understanding of software development technologies Desirable skills & experience \t * An understanding of some of the following technologies; .Net/C# (ideally MVC & Web API), .Net Core, HTML, CSS, Web Services (SOAP / REST), SQL (Ideally Oracle PL/SQL), TFS, WCF, SPA JavaScript frameworks, Responsive UI \t * Good awareness of object orientated design \t * Knowledge of development & test practices particularly continuous integration, continuous delivery and test automation approaches \t * Experience of delivering software as part of a team through all phases of the development cycle; including testing " Education: Not Specified Employment Type: Permanent
