Job Description

Principal Environmental Consultant Our client is one of the UK's leading independent building and environmental monitoring and incident response contractors, with a commitment and passion to increase environmental impact awareness. Due to a rapid period of growth they are now looking for a committed and experienced Principal Environmental Consultant to join their Gloucestershire team, both office and field based. As a Principal Environmental Consultant, you will provide expert assessments and advisory services for clients on matters pertaining to the management of environmental issues. In doing so, you will play an integral role in reducing the detrimental impact of industrial, commercial and government initiatives on the environment. You will have active involvement in day-to-day project management and the delivery of contaminated land/spill response projects, conduct reports and risk assessments of the environmental impact of that contaminated land/spill. As a confident leader, you will be overseeing all aspects of a project and have the ability to communicate at all levels whilst: -Ensuring a project is delivered meeting set financial and service level agreements. -Managing commercial risk issues. -Ensuring compliance with Company Health & Safety policies. -Undertaking fieldwork and ensuring others are in accordance with operating procedures using spot-checks and general supervisory guidance. Capabilities and Qualifications required; MSc level (or equivalent) in Geo-environmental related discipline such as geology, engineering geology, environmental science or physical geography. Experience of working in a contaminated land/environmental claims management consultancy at a Senior or Principal level. As a Principal Consultant, you will have a Senior Consultant reporting in to you, so experience of this responsibility/authority is beneficial. Extensive Phase I and Phase II investigation experience. Strong, demonstrable people management and project management skills and experience. A vast understanding of current and upcoming environmental legislations. Ability to work independently, as well as managing and monitoring junior staff and the needs of the wider team. Ability to write technically sound and commercially focused proposals and reports Hold excellent communication both verbally and written.
