Job Description
Dragados, a leading global construction and engineering company with unmatched experience in infrastructure, bridge, highway, tunnel, dam and marine projects are currently looking to hire an I&M engineer to work at Bank Station for approx. 6 months and then move onto Euston Station. Dragados have an impressive portfolio of current UK projects including; HS2 Euston Station 50:50 joint venture (£1.5bn), Bank Station (£350m) and Aberdeen Harbour Expansion (£350m) plus many more exciting potential projects in the pipeline! The Instrumentation and Monitoring (I&M) Engineer is responsible for assisting the I&M Manager to deliver, manage and review: * the detailed design and implementation of the Instrumentation and Monitoring systems, * structural building mitigation measures, * defect surveys * and inspection regime I&M Engineer is necessary for managing the effects of the works on infrastructure and structures within the zone of influence of large excavations and tunnels. Affected infrastructure includes listed buildings, various non-listed buildings, highways, utilities, adjacent operational LU tunnels and NR assets and all other structural infrastructure. The role will include liaising with the client, Designers, Tier 2 Contractors and Third Parties to ensure the design and works are implemented as appropriate and sufficient for the requirements. The I&M Engineer is responsible for assisting the I&M Manager for the management and review for the Instrumentation and Monitoring works for the duration of the project. They are responsible for assisting in reporting to the Client and attending review meetings, supporting close out and handover of the I&M works when the relevant phase of the project is completed. Responsibilities: · Co-ordinate with designers to ensure successful completion of the Instrumentation and Monitoring design that is sufficient to assure key Stakeholders. · Ensure the monitoring design is developed to programme to facilitate agreed baselines for construction activities. · Liaise with the consents team to provide information relating to the monitoring design to facilitate installation works. · Maintain and co-ordinate design documentation to include safety, programme, cost, environmental and community risks involved with Instrumentation and Monitoring and survey works. · Ensure the I&M and Survey works are carried out in accordance with the design. · Ensure that all data acquisition by the Monitoring Subcontractor is processed, verified and analysed correctly. · Prepare/review Action Plans and Specific Action Plans. · Ensure that all requirements in the Action Plans and Specific Action Plans are implemented by the Monitoring Subcontractor. · Review and interpret daily results and changes in monitoring system. This could involve some occasional weekend work as the works are 24/7. · Interpret monitoring data and review against damage assessments and predictions. · Present Monitoring data at review meetings. This could involve some occasional weekend work as the works are 24/7. · Raise non-conformances taking immediate corrective action whenever possible. · Preparation of I&M and survey reports as required. · Review Method Statements and procedures for site based activities. · Arrange access requirements to third party assets to enable monitoring and installation works · Maintain good community and third party relations. · Co-ordinate Defect Survey Subcontractors works regarding access, documentation and programme. · Review Defect Survey reports and submit to the Client. · Assist with preparation and procurement of sub-contractors as required for packages of work, i.e. inspections, structural mitigations or other works that may arise. · Inspect or co-ordinate inspections to assets during zone of influence of excavation activities and report to review meetings.
