Location: Edinburgh, Sighthill Industrial Estate, Calder Road, Edinburgh, EH11 4HN Job type: Full Time, Permanent Who Are We? We employ circa 1,800 people around the UK, with the majority of our workforce being based at our three main Bakery facilities in Llantarnam, Edinburgh and Blackpool. Our head office is based in St. Albans, with a subsidiary office located in Blackpool and smaller but equally important sites based in Dorset, Livingston & the Isle of Arran. Along with having amazing brands, we have secured long term agreements to allow us to manufacture a number of sweet & savoury snacks across Mars Biscuit, Cathedral City & Marmite branded products. We are also forming key strategic partnerships within the Retailer Private Label sector. In order to ensure we can continue to make fantastic biscuits, and to help us on this amazing journey, we are proud to announce that in 2019 we completed the acquisition of a premium sweet and savoury biscuit manufacturer Thomas Fudge's, also in 2019 we acquired Scottish bakers Paterson Arran. This will increase our baking capabilities across a number of new sweet and savoury categories. What are we all about? You'll join a great existing HR team at Edinburgh, where you will provide support to the team in order to deliver against the business strategy and the corporate and site people plan. Working in a busy bakery is fast paced with lots of variety on a daily basis, including project work such as GDPR, KPI delivery & absence management, examples of key tasks can be: - Leading and complete payroll activities for the site. - Producing and maintain organisation charts and management information. - Coordinating and deliver inductions & Probationary process - Tracking of personal development plans and collate training needs - Providing information and/or advice to managers and employees. - Maintaining relevant documentation, ensuring all contractual/legal documents and templates are kept up to date and in line with current legislation. - Conducting initial stages of disciplinary, grievance and absence management. - Supporting in investigating and resolving employee relations issues. - Ensuring that employees receive appropriate information and that they are informed when policy and/or procedure changes are updated. . What are the key ingredients needed for the role? You will need to be willing to work towards your CIPD. We are also looking for candidates to have demonstrated some work experience, but this doesn't need to be within HR, as an example this could be part time retail work during your studies. You will need to be confident & proactive with your communication, well organised, able to work at a fast pace, able to build relationships and passionate about a career in HR. Excellent IT skills are essential for management information reporting. What do we offer in return?
