Head of Operational Health and Safety - Milton Keynes Embark are proud to be supporting our client in the security sector who provide first-class services in security, property, digital and logistics to customers all over the UK, as well as abroad. We are looking for a passionate and driven Head of Operational Health and Safety on a 12-month basis to help drive and advance the current vision. As Head of Operational Health and Safety, your role means you will: Ensure the client meets statutory, regulatory and internal policy obligations in health and safety. Be responsible for ensuring delivery of operational health and safety strategy, policies and procedures. Drive the health and safety vision, leading the safety team, providing subject expertise across the organisation. Lead continual improvement and contribute to key projects and initiatives. Ensure appropriate effective internal controls am delivery of internal and external audit programmes. Maintain effective control disciplines and taking overall responsibility for change initiatives hat lead cultural change. Devise and Develop health and safety policies, procedures and guidance as part of the client's H&S Management System. * Identify areas for health and safety improvement and make practical, cost effective recommendations. * Be the focal point of contact for expert health and safety advice, support and guidance across the business working with all levels across the organisation. * Support the commercial bid team by provision of relevant and timely information. * Lead investigations into serious accidents, incidents and complaints and ensure the client's interests are represented/protected. * Devise, develop and deliver appropriate health and safety training and education programmes for staff. * Undertake continual professional development (CPD) and maintain professional expertise through networking, ongoing training and development. Create strong working relationships with key stakeholders, including Directors, senior managers, colleagues, customers, partners across government and Enforcement Agencies. To apply you must: Be a Chartered Safety Practitioner (CMIOSH) Be NEBOSH Diploma qualified or equivalent Have proven experience of Health and Safety management systems Have exceptional leaderships skills and the ability to influence, communicate, negotiate, analyse and resolve complex issues, diffuse conflict and fulfil requirements in an independent manner to make informed decisions and act upon these Be an excellent communicator with strong personal impact and credibility to influence the direction of the health and safety agenda, lead cultural change programmes and operate at all levels and deliver results Have experience working across a multi-functional organisation You will ideally have: * Familiarity with operating within a secure environment (eg: government or high security premises) * Experience of change management * Experience working at Board Level * Experience of strategic planning If you are able to see the bigger picture, lead and communicate teams whilst managing and delivering a quality service, as well as meeting the criteria above, then send your CV to ioni@embarkresourcing.co.uk and call Ioni Hornsby on 0203 637 2080!
