Overview
About You: We are looking for an experienced Head of Development to work at our innovative integrated marketing agency. The right candidate will have a wealth of knowledge and ideas, strong technical understanding across a broad range of disciplines and an eagerness to contribute, mentor, lead as well as to learn and bring new ideas to the table. You will be a striver for excellence with an understanding of digital marketing, very organized and meticulous in your working. You will liaise with colleagues across the business (including from a non-technical background) to ensure the project meets the requirements of the client, supporting innovation and creative achievement. You are constantly learning new techniques and challenging yourself with new languages and technologies. You are a stickler for best practice and high standards. Role Overview: You will play an active role in the entire marketing project process, beginning with strategic and expert guidance and decision-making in the planning stages. You will be a problem solver; whose goal is to always develop innovative and technically sound digital productions. You will be responsible for the output of your team. Key Responsibilities: Breaking down large scale projects into manageable chunks Working out which tech platforms to use based on cost benefit analysis and research Briefing designers/developers project requirements and overseeing the progress Ensuring the quality of projects Design and documentation of complex technical solutions as required Advocacy of industry best-practices throughout all stages of the project life cycle Development of core project deliverables Mentoring and training of a development team working across web, email and MA programmes Performing health checks and testing to ensure quality in all project deliverables Practical: Advanced PHP, HTML, CSS, MySQL, JavaScript knowledge Strong LAMP stack knowledge and experience Experience of Content Management Systems such as Drupal/WordPress
