Job Description
The key purpose of this role is to support all aspects of supply chain manufacture through all stages of development, production release and product transfer. The role will be working within a small team environment where multi-tasking and flexible thinking will be critical. The ability to facilitate and enable sub-contract engineering companies & suppliers to meet project guidelines is critical to the role. + To provide material planning and procurement for all phases of new product introduction. + To define and maintain planning criteria in support of ERP functions and functionality. + You'll work in true collaboration with our Design, Maufacture, Supply Chain Teams + Plan and Coordinate the implementation of engineering change within the supply chain. + Monitor and control product cost. + Ensure suppliers are adequately positioned to support project deadlines + Attend and provide reporting on NPI meetings on behalf of the Product Planning department. + Ensure accuracy of NPI planning data + Place purchase orders for assigned purchasing group/deputy or other purchasing groups with consultation. + Provide performance and statistical analysis for the Materials NPI function + Ideally HND or equivalent in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering, and/or Demonstrated effective experience within an engineering environment. + Purchasing Qualifications or Demonstrated effective experience in a similar position + Clean UK driving license + Practiced in the application of SOP processes, MRP II and production planning. + Working knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Office, Access or similar software packages. + Action oriented - exhibits energy, strong desire to achieve and appropriately high dedication levels. + Consistent, proactive and able to work on own initiative - good problem solving skill. + Ability to travel on company business. + Ability to interpret mechanical or electrical engineering drawings. + Good communication skills at all levels. + Ability to see bigger picture for strategic decisions.
