Overview
A large-scale Aerospace Defence technology and production engineering business is currently recruiting for a Project Procurement Manager / Senior NPI Buyer on a permanent basis. The Project Procurement Manager / Senior NPI Buyer will be responsible to coordinate with Operations and Programme management teams to ensure that the material flow meets the operations and Programme schedule. Working with in house engineers and suppliers to develop cost down initiatives through process improvements. Role - Project Procurement Manager / Senior NPI Buyer Type - Permanent position Salary - £40,000 - £55,000 Location - High Wycombe, Buckinghamshire Key responsibilities for Project Procurement Manager / Senior NPI Buyer job role and not limited to: To design, manage and develop effective / agile supply chain solutions Assess Make v Buy and provide pay-back justification for subcontract of new and existing electronic and electro-mechanical subcontract opportunities Support the Procurement Manager in the development and mentoring of the Procurement team Lead subcontract supplier research, audits, selection and development in close liaison with the SQA department Manage the free-issue/sale of materials and loan of test equipment, jigs, fixtures and tooling as required by subcontracts Effective process management for all key and/or strategic subcontract suppliers Analyse, report and manage excess material liabilities and ensure minimum business exposure at all times Manage and control all subcontracts documentation, data, files and reports in a timely and accurate manner Support implementation of Lean supply chain principles such as JIT, Kan-Ban, VMI, DLF etc. in line with the company's overall manufacturing strategy Supervise the preparation of quotations/tenders, analysis of supplier bids, and award of contracts as required Liaise with QA so that quality data (KPI's, RMA's and defect analysis) is captured, analysed, reported promptly with suitable root cause analysis and corrective action plans Negotiate contract / supply agreements and enforce terms as necessary Support development of commodity roadmap and vendor consolidation programs Introduce strategic pricing models to deliver favorable PPV through structured cost Key skills and experience required for Project Procurement Manager / Senior NPI Buyer role and not limited to: Proven experience of establishing and managing sub contracts within key projects Proven experience working within procurement as PPM or similar role Commercial acumen with a good understanding of terms and conditions and the ability to draft and develop sub-contract documentation Experience supporting bid activity, creating procurement specification and terms and condition flow down Excellent communication skills, both written and spoken Eligible to gain UK MOD SC Clearance Strong IT skills, especially in Microsoft Office To apply for this Project Procurement Manager / Procurement Manager / Sub Contract Manager / Senior Buyer / Senior NPI Buyer candidates must be eligible to live and work in the UK.
