Job Title - Data Scientist Location - Radbroke Are you interested in creating state-of-the-art Machine Learning solutions on Terabytes of Data? At Barclays, we are developing state-of-the-art large-scale Machine Learning solutions on huge amounts of data. We are looking for talented and experienced Data Scientists, who can apply innovative Machine Learning techniques to real-world problems in Financial Services. This role sits within Information Business and Personalization (IB & P) which supports the execution of info-driven value propositions and also information aggregation and packaging. Uses information to improve the revenue, expense and productivity dynamics of today's business through targeted application of analytics. The Machine learning team within IB & P has been setup to introduce platform, tools, technologies, standards and governance to support various initiatives across Shared technology and wider BUK. In addition to methodology and governance, it is also working to deliver use cases end-to-end. Its focuses to ensure that IIT and the Bank are achieving the best from the emerging tools and technologies in DS space to improve colleagues and customer experience, to identify opportunities to improve efficiencies, to reduce cost and to improve revenues. What will you be doing? Work on data science use cases end-to-end from data discovery to operationalizing Use machine Learning, data mining and statistical techniques to create scalable solutions for business problems. Work with business, technology, and control groups to define/refine scope, data source, statistical elements, system integration etc. Gather the business/functional requirements and develop technical specification for the ETL team Help build best-in-class solution architecture, standards, best practices for machine learning Understand the business domain, define the scope, prepare and draft success criteria, failure criterion and initial hypothesis for the use case Conceptualize and quickly build POC for new product ideas - should perform well as an individual contributor and work with other data scientists and data engineers What we're looking for: Experience with ML and data manipulation with a deep understanding of machine learning and data mining principles, tools and processes Hands-on experience in scripting languages (Python and R ideally) An MSc/ MEng in machine learning, computer science, mathematics, statistics, or extensive practical experience Skills that will help you in the role: Experience and understanding of Big Data ecosystem with technologies like Spark, Presto, MapReduce, Kafka, Hive etc. Experience in UNIX scripting and NoSQL would be an added advantage Where will you be working?
