VP of Sales As the VP of Sales at Grakn Labs, you will be building and leading our sales organisation and enable all our customers to succeed. Grakn is a distributed knowledge graph: a logical database that allows you to organise large and complex networks of data as one body of knowledge. Grakn provides the knowledge engineering tools for developers to easily leverage the power of Knowledge Representation and Reasoning when building complex systems. Ultimately, Grakn serves as the knowledge-base foundation for cognitive and intelligent systems. Graql is Grakn's query language. It provides an expressive knowledge schema language through an enhanced entity-relationship model, transactional queries that perform deductive reasoning in real-time, and analytical queries with native distributed Pregel and MapReduce algorithms. Graql provides a strong abstraction over low-level data constructs and complex relationships. Graql is distributed as an open-source technology, while Grakn comes in two forms: Grakn Core - which is also open-source, and Grakn KGMS - our enterprise Knowledge Graph Management Service, available through Google Cloud and Amazon AWS. As our first VP of Sales, you are responsible for building and leading our sales organisation, developing and executing sales strategies that drive revenue, and monitoring and reporting on sales goals, adjusting tactics as needed to reach them. The VP of Sales will also work closely with other executives to drive strategic direction and resource allocation for the company. Responsibilities * Building the sales organisation, implementing and scaling our go to market strategy * Growing, hiring and scaling the sales team * Coaching sales staff to win business, pointing out obstacles, identifying opportunities * Manage and establish our sales process by creating sales scripts, templates, demos, sales stages, and more * Qualify, build and manage a growing sales pipeline accurately * Grow existing accounts by enabling customer success * Leverage and implement sales tools to track pipeline development, opportunity tracking and sales forecasting * Deliver insights to customers by identifying problems in their businesses by using a challenger sale approach * Enable selling of complete solutions of software, services and support to ensure customer success * Work closely with marketing to conduct seminars, conferences and other marketing related events Requirements * 4-7 years of related experience: Selling and delivering complex solutions to small and large customers, sales leadership roles, managing high performance sales and technical-sales teams, developing account strategies * Possess a sales and technical background that enables them to drive an engagement with software developers, IT architects and partners as well as the CXO level * Technologically knowledgeable in the open source software and cloud computing space * Experience in leading and managing sales teams, coaching and growing team members * Track record of managing long term relationships with accounts * Driven by a strong desire to be successful * Self starter who is prepared to execute territory scaling plans and revenue targets * Strong network of relationships with key decision makers * Ability to anticipate problems, design solutions, and intuitively make quick strategic decisions * Loves change while remaining organised, has a positive attitude, is coachable * Understands the customer's business, loves to debate and pushes customer Benefits * Driven by a strong sense of purpose and vision * Talented, collaborative and ambitious team * Equity stock options - we share the success * Flexible working hours, and fully stocked kitchen * Open-source at heart - what we use, and what we produce * Travel around the world and meet the community * Work with developers, to serve developers * Visa sponsorship, and relocation support
