Job Description
**Role Summary:** To execute Project & Interface Engineering in a consistent and compliant manner with the objective of delivering cost effective on time deliveries. Report directly to the Controls Systems Engineering Manager, take technical direction from both the lead Project Systems Engineer & the Controls Systems Engineering Consulting Engineer. Shall generally be involved in Project Systems Engineering however they may also be seconded to support ITO engineering. **Essential Responsibilities:** The Project & Interface Engineer supports the lead Project Systems Engineer and the Project Engineering Manager (PEM) in ensuring the system is delivered on time and within budget. A major contributor to ensuring that Controls deliver the specified system performance in accordance with contractual and applicable regulatory requirements. Through support to the PEM and Lead System Engineer is a major contributor Additionally, in support to the Lead Systems Engineer, they will also be key in managing the Technical Interfaces process for the project. Shall be responsible for: Management of the Project Technical Interfaces in conjunction with the wider Project Interface team As part of the project delivery responsibility, shall provide input to the following key documentation: Scope of Supply and System BOM System FDS System S/W requirements specification in conjunction with Project Lead S/W Engineer. This shall also include the Project Cause & Effects Charts and associated Controls narrative documents. System Schematics (inc network schematic) Controls Extended Factory Acceptance Test (EFAT) Procedure Shall also contribute towards: Specification of Electrical Distribution, Communications, Network bandwidth and system data processing and control capacity, Hydraulic Distribution and Chemical Distribution (where applicable) Analyses Technical elements of all Controls System Design Reviews and Project approver of all Unit / Equipment Management of project technical risks Identification and Technical Management of Functional and Equipment Qualification programmes Incorporation and functional integration of Functional Safety Requirements into the Control System and Equipment design in conjunction with the Project Functional Safety Engineer. Shall support the technical authority for the PCS EFAT (Lead System Engineer). EFAT contributions shall include but not be limited to the following: Generation of EFAT scope and resulting procedures, supporting documentation. Logistical direction of EFAT activities, and technical support Shall support SPS / EPC engineering in respect of the following activities: Interface Management SIT scope, contribute to generation of Controls elements of procedures and site support as and when required noting that Project & Interface Engineer support of SIT shall not encompass tasks that would normally be carried out by Field Service Engineers (FSE) unless this is deemed to improve Project & Interface Engineer effectiveness through experience of these activities. FSE level activities shall only be accepted after discussion and agreement with the Controls Systems Engineering Manager. ITO Application Engineering and FEED / Early Phase Application Engineering In addition to Project Execution Engineering, may be called upon to support ITO Application Engineering and FEED / Early Phase Application Engineering. Responsibilities and resulting scope of work shall be agreed in conjunction with the Controls Systems Engineering Manager and Consulting Engineer prior to commencement of activities but shall generally be in line with the scope detailed under Lead Systems Engineer.
