Job Description
Job Title: Head of Supply Chain Management (SCM) Weapons & Sensors (W&S) Location(s): UK (Based at Harlow or Glenrothes, with travel as required, national and international) Req ID: 155025BR Summary of Role Reporting directly to the Head of SCM, RUK, the W&S SCM Lead will be responsible for: . The performance of the SCM function in the W&S Business Area 500M bookings and sales annually, >50% supplier . Broad technology and program span across Weapons and Sensors . Complex, high value international and domestic supply base . Providing leadership and strategic direction to the W&S SCM team . 57 geographically dispersed skilled professionals . Relationships with W&S suppliers Main Duties . Identify and deliver top talent, including recruitment, performance management and team development in order to deliver functional excellence . Provide strategic thought leadership to develop innovative supplier management solutions that drive W&S achievement of its Annual Operating Plan and individual business area objectives . Setting and driving the strategic direction for W&S SCM activities, including any functional initiatives . Establish credibility and trusted, purposeful relationships with business partners, employees, and domestic and international suppliers at senior levels . Engage in W&S supplier and customer issues to ensure expeditious closure . Ensure successful governance/compliance of the W&S organisations with the application of appropriate Raytheon policies and procedures . Liaise with appropriate US Business VP Supply Chain on matters of significance . Create and deliver Commercial functional budget for the Annual Operating Plan Candidate Requirements Essential . Demonstrable senior management experience of leading teams to deliver business objectives . Experienced in staff engagement and management with specific experience in staff development with excellent influencing skills and a flexible and positive attitude . A strong desire and capability to developing leaders, not managers . Significant UK and international SCM experience in the defence and security industry . Excellent negotiating skills . Proven and varied experience of Defence and Aerospace supplier management for the provision of goods and services . Bachelor's degree or higher in business or related subject . Willingness to travel internationally . Holds or able to obtain SC security clearance Desirable . Experience managing an internationally distributed team . Mentoring and coaching experience gained in a matrix management environment . Able to deal at board level both externally and internally . Experience of representing the function at Board level meetings . Good working knowledge of import/export legislation .
