Summary: Facebook seeks a highly motivated, team player to serve as Litigation Counsel within our EMEA Legal team. You will manage litigation matters and advise internal teams on legal risks. The ideal candidate will have a background in data protection and online platform-related litigation. The role requires good judgment, a strong work ethic, and a keen interest in learning about new technologies and areas of the law. This is a great opportunity to join a growing legal team and to work on novel issues in fast-paced, fun environment. Required Skills: 1. Supervise and direct outside counsel on multiple litigation matters 2. Guide and execute litigation strategy in relation to matters pending before national and international courts 3. Work with cross-functional teams on data protection, public policy, platform/partnership, product, privacy, and commercial issues 4. Provide legal advice across many subject areas, with a focus on data protection and class action/group litigation 5. Develop creative approaches to managing legal risks and resolving disputes Minimum Qualifications: 6. Qualified to practice law in at least one European jurisdiction 7. 3+ years post-qualification litigation experience, either in an in-house or law firm setting with data protection experience highly preferred 8. Familiarity with Internet laws and issues, including understanding of the E-Commerce Directive and its application to online platforms 9. Ability to independently, quickly and accurately assess legal, practical and business risks 10. Excellent problem-solving, communication and interpersonal skills 11. Sharp focus on multi-tasking, details, and organisation 12. Passion for and understanding of technology Preferred Qualifications: 13. Fluency in another European language useful but not required 14. Prior experience working with internet or technology companies Industry: Internet
