We are building a team of energetic, customer-focused service operations engineers to blending system admin, incident command, and NOC engineering disciplines. You'll build and manage a dynamic team that learns broadly how our cloud platform works so you can be the bridge between product engineering and our partners. As the Senior Manager, you will act as the voice of the customer to influence product features and plans to improve the customer experience. This role is integral to the success of our customer relationships and is critical to the success of the platform. This role will support Oracle's UK Government customers. You should be a distributed systems generalist, able to architect broad systems interactions while being very hands-on, able to dive deep into any part of the stack and lower level system interactions. Job Responsibilities + Supervise a 24/7team of technical operators, ensuring that production applications your teamsupports are stable, reliable, and well-documented. + Work closely withengineering managers and development teams to ensure that platforms aredesigned with scale and operability in mind + Troubleshoot anddebug complex issues in production applications + Own end-to-endavailability and performance of key services and build automation to preventproblem recurrence. + Automate responseto all non-exceptional service conditions. + Assist in theroll-out and deployment of new product features and installations to facilitateour rapid iteration and constant growth. + Develop tools toimprove our ability to rapidly deploy and effectively monitor customapplications in a large-scale environment. + Recruit, retain,and develop strong engineers while embodying OCI values and culture. Requirements + Ability to maintaina UK government security clearance. + Bachelor's degree,in Computer Science, or equivalent work experience. + 8-10 yearsequivalent work experience in Infrastructure as a code / SRE / DevOps tooling /Automation in supporting large scale systems in Production. + 3-5 years ofexperience in the management of Engineering / DevOps / SRE teams. + Experience withLinux. + Experiencedeploying code within change management procedures. + Experienceparticipating in or running incident bridges. + Customer obsession,passion for delighting customers. + Understanding ofcloud concepts and platforms. + Experience in cloudtechnical support, operations, NOC or similar is preferred, but not required. + Experience workingwith government customers is preferred, but not required. + Proven ability toquickly learn new technical domains and then train others. + Great verbal andwritten communication skills. + Strongunderstanding of cloud concepts and platforms. + Previous experiencein making hiring decisions for technical teams. + Feedback/Metricscollection techniques to expose live site/service issues. Detailed Description and Job Requirements Manage a team that designs, develops, troubleshoots and debugs software programs for databases, applications, tools, networks etc. As a manager of the software engineering division, you will apply your knowledge of software architecture to manage software development tasks associated with developing, debugging or designing software applications, operating systems and databases according to provided design specifications. Build enhancements within an existing software architecture and suggest improvements to the architecture. Manages and controls activities in multi-functional areas of sections. Ensures appropriate operational planning is effectively executed to meet Corporate specifications. Demonstrated leadership and people management skills.
