Regional Public Sector Director - Central We're hiring! Aon are currently recruiting Regional Practice Leaders to join our established Public Sector team in Bristol. You will help grow our Public Sector practice through the development and execution of servicing and sales strategies, thought leadership, and innovation. This individual will be a leading figurehead for Aon in the UK, and will be viewed as an expert in the Sector. You will be responsible for building our brand externally and internally, interacting with key clients and prospects and the insurance market. About the Role As a Regional Practice Leader some of your key responsibilities will involve; New Business Development/Strategic Participating in the leadership and strategic direction of the Public Sector Steering Group. To share ideas and best practice and all relevant information with other Public Sector colleagues within Aon as required. Represent the Aon Public Sector Practice Practice by attending and or speaking at high profile sector events, including CIPFA, ALARM, Aon arranged events and others. Provide direction and guidance to the proposition development and marketing team in developing innovative sector specific solutions for our clients. Input to and write thought leadership and client communications. To take overall responsibility for the delivery of the regional Public Sector budget, including new business activities as required. Completion of broker new business tenders and leadership of new business presentations as required. Service Servicing support at an appropriate level to large clients. Ad hoc support to existing service teams as required, particularly in the very intense renewal period from 1/1 to 31/3. Broking liaison with key specialist Public Sector insurers. Assistance with specialist technical insurance issues. Ensure that Public Sector colleagues have all the relevant information, skills and knowledge on which to base their advice to clients. Support client teams in understanding and communicating the value proposition of the Public Sector Practice. Compliance with regulatory requirements and business procedures. Leadership Responsible for driving profitable growth through the provision of Aon services to public sector clients in their Area, through a dedicated team of Client Managers. Lead the team of client managers to achieve the annual revenue target for their group of clients by effectively implementing the client management strategy and annual plans, including Client Promise where appropriate. Manage the performance delivered by that dedicated team and ensure the overall profitable growth of revenue of their clients. Ensure all team members attend relevant personal development courses in line with their role. Develop and support team members in the achievement of their objectives through coaching and mentoring. Responsible for working in accordance with the Aon UK Limited Risk Management Framework, and compliance with the Aon UK Limited policies, including participation in the management of risks (including completion of mandatory training) that may adversely affect the business, interests or reputation of any Group Company. About you As a Regional Practice Leader your skills and qualifications will ideally include; * Previous experience of working with Public Sector clients in the insurance industry. * ACII or equivalent preferred * Understand the Public Sector's approach to managing risk for each of the key subsectors. * Familiar with the challenges of leading and developing teams in a changing Environment * Analytical and logical * Ability to work effectively in a matrix management environment where success often depends on influencing skill rather than direct control. * The ability to form effective working partnerships with a wide variety of colleagues * An effective and reasonable negotiator with an understanding of the importance of sustainability * An effective listener and a strong, consistent communicator * Committed to continual improvement and to using new technology to raise standards of quality and efficiency * Behaviour that inspires the trust and respect of colleagues and wider leadership team * An inspirational leader who is also inspired to lead a high performing team.
