Content and Publications Officer - Part Time Bristol About Development Initiatives (DI) Our mission is to ensure that decisions about the allocation of finance and resources result in an end to poverty, increase the resilience of the world’s most vulnerable people, and leave no one behind. We are an independent international development organisation working on the use of data to drive poverty eradication and sustainable development. We are now looking for a Content and Publications Officer to join our team on a part-time basis. The Role As a Content and Publications Officer, you will oversee all editorial output, ensuring content is of the highest standard, on brand and maintains our integrity. Playing a key role in the Communications Team, you will ensure our print and digital content is brought to life, conveying our message to the most people in the best way. Reporting to the Content Strategist and Managing Editor, your role will involve: - Managing production processes, ensuring project tasks are delivered to agreed specifications - Developing, maintaining and uploading digital content - Ensuring online content is updated, appropriately categorised and SEO optimised - Copyediting and proofreading all content before its publication - Repurposing content for different channels and audiences - Sourcing images for online content and obtaining copyright permissions About You To join us as a Content and Publications Officer, you will need: - At least two years’ experience of copyediting and proofreading - Experience of using web content management systems, such as Wagtail and WordPress - Experience of content creation, including writing, rewriting and repurposing copy - Demonstrable knowledge and an understanding of publishing techniques - At a minimum, a degree level qualification (or equivalent) Ideally, you will have skills in creating and interpreting graphics, infographics and interactive infographics, including designing, conceptualising and commissioning, but this is not essential. Experience of running webinars or comparable online events would also be beneficial.
