Job Description
The Position The Senior Accountant assists the team in performing monthly accounting close functions through applying accounting policies, and presents financial results to senior management. The role is to assist the production of regulatory reporting on a UK GAAP and Solvency II basis for the Arch entities. Job Responsibilities Provide assistance in the GAAP and STAT financial close (compile data for P&L calculations, assist in the Balance Sheet rollforward and maintenance, etc.) Assist in the preparation, review and submission of external regulatory & internal management & 'Group' reports Reconcile general ledger to financial reporting database Provides assistance, to the completion of Lloyd's reporting - QMA, QMB, QF1, GQD and statutory accounts. Provides assistance, to the completion of Solvency II reporting - QSR, ASR, SFCR,RSR reporting for S2012 & AIUK. Assist the automation of the regulatory reporting processes. Any other duties as required Required Skills/Experience Technical Skills Proficiency Level Required (R) /Optional (O) Microsoft Excel 3 R Microsoft Office 3 R Financial Systems 2 R Accounting Experience 2 R Desired Skills/Experience * Bachelor's degree in Accounting or related fields and CPA or Chartered Accountant (or requirements for certification met) plus 2-4 years related experience. * Experience in internal and external financial reporting. * Experience in Lloyd's & other UK regulatory reporting for specialty insurance, preferred but not required. * Ability to understand and apply low to mid complex financial reporting practices and procedures, and suggest internal controls. * Working knowledge of month-end close process and account analysis. * Experience with general ledger applications and relevant Financial Systems (e.g. Great Plains, TM1). * Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. * Strong analytical skills with with attention to detail and accuracy. * Strong knowledge of Excel.
