As a Consumer Device Engineer (CDE) at Oculus, you'll ensure the delivery of a high-quality software and platform for Oculus product lines. The CDE is composed of one part software/hardware engineer, one part program manager, one part quality assurance. You'll be responsible for building and executing test strategy and plans across multiple products and platforms. You'll also debug issues across the hardware and software stack, builds tools and implement fixes alongside Oculus hardware and software engineers. You'll have intimate knowledge of all the current issues, build heat maps and bug burn-downs, along with track and report detailed metrics to key stakeholders which would lead to go/no-go decisions per milestone. The ideal candidate is a detail-oriented engineer, has strong cross-functional skills who has a passion for building great hardware and software products and improving engineering efficiency. You will ensure the release of Oculus products that will delight our customers. **Required Skills:** 1. Build a test-driven engineering culture that drives improvements in quality 2. Implement process changes to scale testing efforts across multiple products 3. Test functionality of apps built for Oculus ecosystem 4. Plan, develop and execute test coverage for multiple platforms 5. Debug issues, report defects, and propose regression tests to discover reoccurrences 6. Implement fixes to the product using existing or customer built tools 7. Work with engineers and project leads to triage and prioritize issues for resolution 8. Identify, test, track and report KPI trends over the course of the project 9. Work along-side hardware and software engineers, program managers and QA to triage issues and make go/no-go decisions 10. Partner with Automation and Infrastructure team to leverage automation to allow better reliability and scalability **Minimum Qualifications:** 11. BS/MS in Computer Science or equivalent experience 12. Experience debugging applications on Platform, PC and Mobile component 13. Experience coding in Python, PHP, Java, C/C++ or other equivalent language **Preferred Qualifications:** 14. Experience in managing black box and white box testing 15. Experience building, shipping, and maintaining consumer electronics devices 16. Experience in building tools to debug issues across the software and hardware stacks 17.
