Managing Director, Working Capital Alvarez & Marsal ("A&M") is a global consulting firm with more than $1.7+ billion in revenues, c.4000+ staff and 60 offices around the globe and a broad range of professional services including Financial & Operational Restructuring, Performance Improvement, Corporate Transformation, Financial Institutions Advisory, Transaction Advisory, Valuations and Disputes and Investigation Services.We enable organisations to transform operations, catapult growth and accelerate results through decisive action. Working directly with our client's management teams, Alvarez & Marsal helps stabilise financial and operational performance by developing and implementing comprehensive profitability and working capital improvements. Alvarez & Marsal's involvement reassures creditors that the company is taking important steps to address its problems and maximise its value. We work with leading global private equity houses and their portfolio companies on an international basis as well as high profile investment banks and multinational companies. A&M has grown considerably its Corporate Transformation Services practice in Europe, having hired a significant number of new Managing Directors over the last 2 years across a range of service lines. To continue the growth of our CFO Services pillar, we now seek an experienced Working Capital and Liquidity subject matter expert to join at Partner level. Reporting to the European Head of CFO Services, the successful appointee will contribute to build the profile and reputation of A&M as a leading global professional services firm that delivers critical assistance to companies that are underperforming or experiencing a full-blown liquidity crisis. Specifically, the Managing Director will be responsible for: * Executing the vision and direction for the continuing build out of Working Capital practice including building a robust yet flexible plan to generate deal flow and develop a sustainable business. * Attracting and developing a team of experienced professionals to drive growth, in addition to quickly assimilating and leveraging existing capability at A&M. * Coordinating across the broader A&M in Europe and globally in areas such as portfolio development and key account management, drawing together the industry and functional expertise needed to serve our clients. Applicants will need a highly developed network across Corporate and Private Equity companies, and they will have a reputation as a trusted advisor. They will be skilled in selling and delivering assignments to their established network. The successful appointee will be an expert in selling and delivering professional services assignments. Our Managing Director will also be a high-energy and established leader with extensive knowledge and experience across Working Capital, Cash Optimisation and Liquidity and, Turnaround Planning gained at a major advisory firm. Successful hires should demonstrate the following capabilities: * A successful track record as a Partner or senior level leadership experience within a Working Capital, Cash Optimisation and Liquidity gained at a prominent Advisory firm * A demonstrable track record in converting business contacts and leads into sustainable, profitable revenue streams * Ability to conduct an initial rapid diagnostic into a client's immediate and future cash needs, financial framework, controls and turnaround strategy * Significant experience across Working Capital & Cash Optimisation, Transformation / Turnaround Planning, including liquidity frameworks and controls, development of implementation plans, designing and implementing cash conservation guidelines and controls * Exceptional analytical skills including reviewing performance figures and analysing transactional data to develop fact-based analysis of cash performance * Robust understanding of accounting and business plan modelling * Connections with, and exposure to Corporates and private equity (large and mid-cap), associated with restructuring and turnaround Typically, successful appointees in Corporate Transformation are: * Action oriented self-starters with entrepreneurial flair * Comfortable working independently in addition to leading high performing teams * Possess excellent financial skills, analytical rigour and a demonstrable track record of success in a leading Advisory firm or an international business of significant size, scale and complexity * Have a proven track record in Transformation and Turnaround Planning * Have a combination of advisory and line management with P&L responsibility * Fluency in other European languages Personal Style * Thrives in a fast-paced, challenging, and uncertain environment with a high tolerance for ambiguity * Excellent written and verbal communications skills, confident, charismatic and impactful presenter. * Objective, fact-based approach to problem solving * Hands-on and non-hierarchical operator who is equally effective in managing up and down and rel
