Job Description

The Noble Denton marine services arm of DNV GL provides a range of services to the Marine, Oil and Gas and Renewables industries. The Jack-up, Geotech & Metocean team is located in London (two remote workers), with additional resources based in Houston, and subcontract resources in Singapore. The purpose of the role of Team Lead of Jack-up, Geotech & Metocean is to lead and develop the Jack-up, Geotech & Metocean team, profitably growing market share in accordance with the DNV GL business plans. The Team Lead of Jack-up, Geotech & Metocean will be expected to supervise the execution of the team's projects, nurture internal and external customer relationships, identify new work opportunities, coordinate the bidding and execution of services, develop a high calibre team to add value to the business, and at all times assure the highest quality of service delivery and HSE compliance to meet customer requirements within budget. Key Accountabilities Operations: + To carry technical responsibility for the Jack-up, Geotech & Metocean Hub in London reporting to the Head of Advanced Engineering and Consulting. + To successfully deliver Jack-up, Geotech & Metocean projects for existing and new clients worldwide in accordance with international codes and standards and company HSEQ policies, ensuring the timely, profitable and consistent delivery and customer satisfaction. + Fulfil role in verifying and approving others work in a Project Manager/Project Sponsor position, and own technical work, to target a personal chargeable hour targets defined in the budget. + Support the Head of Advanced Engineering and Consulting to develop and grow the Jack-up, Geotech & Metocean business including preparation of tenders and proposals and successful negotiation of commercial terms. + Provide monthly updates to Head of Advanced Engineering and Consulting on all KPI's, objectives and issues. + Provide feedback and support to the Quality and Technical Policy functions so that key processes can be kept up to date and continually improved. Sales and Marketing: + To work with the Business Development team to build productive customer relationships and identify new business opportunities + To drive sales efforts with new and existing customers and seek opportunities for wider integration of services. + Support the sales pipeline to deliver EBITA and Revenue growth, making full use of Affinitas to track and filter sales opportunities. People Management and Team Building: + Develop and maintain the technical capabilities of the unit and to mentor and help coach personnel. + Mentor reporting teams so that they meet targets for budget, cost, delivery and quality. + Determine resourcing requirements for projects, liaising with the Head of Advanced Engineering and Consulting to bring in sufficient skilled people to support their delivery. + Ensure that MIPs, career planning and professional development training is kept up to date for line reports. Key Outputs + Ensure that deliverables comply technically with corporate procedures and international codes and standards. + Adherence to HSE and quality procedures. + Compliance with personnel procedures e.g. MIP process. + Timely delivery on budget of designated projects. + Pre-qualifications, Quotes, bids and tenders. + Securing new business and the identification of new business areas. + Coaching and mentoring team to build technical expertise. + CRM & Affinitas database information, project approval form requests. + Responsible for approving timesheets and travel expenses. + Project delivery and resourcing plans. + Project invoices and internal controls. + Customer feedback measurement. + Business performance reports. + Technical and Safety audit support. + Delivery of annual personal KPIs. Technical / Professional Expertise and Qualifications Required + Degree qualified in relevant engineering discipline. + In depth knowledge and experience of Jack-up, Geotech & Metocean project work. + Demonstrable track record of successful delivery of technical analysis scopes. + Knowledge of industry assessment software (FEA, CRM tools etc) a benefit. + Understanding of the use of management accounting techniques. + Resource costing and pricing skills. + Contract negotiation awareness. + Ability to manage, develop, monitor, interpret and report on key commercial indicators. + Experience in training and mentoring of junior team members an advantage. + Capable to support senior colleagues at client meetings. + Excellent IT skills, adept in use of Microsoft Office applications.
