Role Summary: BHGE has current vacancies to recruit mechanical engineering apprentices for their AMO Pressure Pumping division, these positions will be predominantly based at our AMO Maintenance Facility at Badentoy Avenue, Portlethen, Aberdeenshire. This is a Modern Apprenticeship 4 year programme. Essential Responsibilities: + In the first year apprentices will spend most of theirtime offsite, at college, gaining a basic appreciation of all engineeringdisciplines. + Followed by specialisation into chosen Mechanicaldiscipline to gain SVQ2 in Engineering Manufacture & NC inEngineering. + Apprentices will also be required to work onsite fromtime to time during this period including, if required, weekend working. + In years 2 & 3 apprentices will be placed onsiteat our Badentoy Avenue facility but will also attend college on a dayrelease basis to complete an HNC in Mechanical Engineering, year 4 will bebased at the Badentoy Avenue facility. + Apprentices will work under the supervision ofqualified / skilled AMO Technicians, learning through observation, mentoring,questioning & physical hands on tools work. The apprentices will alsomaintain a logbook of completed work, which must pass assessment againstNational Standards by an External Assessor forming part of the ModernApprenticeship program award. Qualifications/Requirements: + A minimum of four National 5s (or equivalentqualifications) is essential, 2 of which must be achieved in Maths &English. + A minimum of National 5s (or equivalent) inPhysics and Technical Subject is preferred but not essential + Higher Mathematics(or equivalent qualification) is beneficial but not essential + Engineeringaptitude + Applicantsmust have the right to work in the UK Desired Characteristics: + Ability to take initiative in learning new skills + Ability to follow instructions + Good oral, written communication skills Locations: Portlethen, Aberdeen, UK This is your opportunity to learn more, do more, live the career you have imagined and be part of a truly diverse organization.
