POSITION OVERVIEW: KLDiscovery are industry leaders in E-Discovery and as such you will play a key role in the handling and preparation of data for the Computer Forensic and E-Discovery phase. The position primarily involves the receipt and booking in of media, controlling the storage of media during its time with KLDiscovery and its eventual return/disposal. The individual filling this position will be responsible, Assistant Manager, Forensic Services (UK), for the daily running of the media cage at KLDiscovery. Additional duties will include the preparation and dispatch of 'remote collection media' to clients and then kick starting procedures to have Data Analysts process this data upon its return. The duty will also entail some core Computer Forensic duties including the initial capture of data in a forensically secure manner and subsequent initial processing of the data whilst maintaining a complete chain of custody records adhering to forensic principles. The individual may also be required to help out Operations with replication and processing where required. The position is typically used as the entry point into the organisation for technical staff without any significant expertise or experience, and provided the holder is successful in the role, this may lead to an opportunity for career development as a Computer Forensic Investigator or working within the Operations Team. The first 6-12 months of this role will be strongly focused on organising the media cage; specifically the return of media currently being held back to the rightful clients. This will entail communicating with these clients to arrange the return or destruction of media held by Computer Forensics and E-Discovery Operations. ROLE RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES: * Under the direction of the Computer Forensic Manager UK take control of the media handling for the KLDiscovery London Office. This will entail organising the media cage and specifically the return of media no longer required back to the clients. * Maintaining an accurate database of what media is currently being held. * Imaging and processing of media in the Computer Forensic Lab. * Assisting the Operations Team where requested with replication work and processing. * Ensure forensic procedures are adhered to and maintain the correct chain of custody and disposal/destruction documentation. * Produce witness statements and evidence reports as required. * Maintain on-site equipment and general Computer Forensic laboratory maintenance. BUSINESS TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS: * Willingness to travel both domestically and internationally may be required from time to time to support Computer Forensic investigators onsite (often at short notice). * Willingness to work outside normal working hours. * Willingness to travel regularly within London to collect media from clients. * Willingness to travel to other KLDiscovery offices to drop-off/collect media. QUALIFICATIONS, SKILLS & EXPERIENCE: * Higher education; a degree in Computer Forensics would be highly advantageous. * Previous related experience would be beneficial. * Strong IT skills are crucial; exposure to hardware would be valuable. * Strong communication skills and the ability to communicate and work with all levels of staff both internally and externally. * Attention to detail and the ability to work under pressure, in a timely manner. * Strong organisational skills are essential.
