About The Team: Our Water and Energy team is involved in some of the most complex and technically challenging projects in the UK. We have a strong heritage in the water industry and are wishing to grow and strengthen our structural team for both the new water AMP period and growing electrical market. The type of projects is varied and includes the world leading Thames Tideway and Elproject, the prestigious Welsh Water Alliance, the Canal and River Trust as well as new advanced projects within the Electricity transmission sector. Skills and Experience: Minimum Qualifications: * Civil or Structural Engineering degree * Chartered Engineer or working towards chartership Essential Experience and Personal Attributes * Strong analytical and design skills * Experience with industry standard software (pref TEDDS, ROBOT, Masterseries) and working in the digital engineering environment (REVIT, Navisworks) * Design experience within large civil engineering structures - water/energy sector preferred * Knowledge of Eurocodes (and British Standards) * An outgoing personality but with capability to focus on design solutions for contractor clients * Ability to lead by example, with good interpersonal and communicate skills * Experience in leading a small technical team * Flexible design ability and a talent to think clearly to deliver effective project design solutions * Delivery to agreed scope and budget Additional Preferred Experience: * Working with and for contractor clients * Electricity transmission and substation design * Capability with REVIT Structure software and familiarity with 3D modelling and Navisworks * Structural survey experience * Experience with major soil structure interface or tunnelling projects * Design for offsite build and manufacture (precast and structural steelwork) Duties and Responsibilities: Responsibilities of this role include, but are not limited to: * Project structural design activities - investigation, analysis, design * Design documentation preparation - calculations, reports and drawings * Compliance with relevant H & S regulations and to promote a culture of safety within the team * Communication with Project Managers, Project Design leads and Clients when required * To deliver technical solutions to the project brief * To be technically innovative in solution of project demands * Provide technical guidance and mentoring to junior team members * Brief and coordinate work with Arcadis Global Design Centres *
