Head of International Property We're hiring! Aon are currently recruiting an experienced Team leader to lead our GBC International Property team in London. The Team Leader will be primarily responsible for the marketing strategy on placements for the International Property book of business covering EMEA and APAC territories. The Global Broking Centre The Global Broking Centre in London is an integral part of Aon's global broking strategy. The GBC provides colleagues from across the Aon network with access to specialist brokers and client managers, dedicated client solutions and thought leadership, and significant global insurance capacity. The GBC works with network colleagues to deliver market-leading solutions to Aon clients, creating a competitive advantage in our placement strategies worldwide. The FCA's Senior Managers & Certification Regime (SM&CR) applies to Aon from December 2019 and this role is subject to the relevant requirements of the Regime. The primary aim of SM&CR is to drive individual accountability for all roles within the Financial Services Sector. Aon must ensure those in senior roles, with the potential to cause significant harm to customers and the business of the firm, are deemed to be fit and proper at all times and also to ensure everyone working in the sector adheres to a set of Conduct Rules and are held to account where they do not meet the right standards of behaviour. About the Role Team / People Leadership * Support the acquisition of talent that meets the future skill set requirement, and support development of high potential colleagues through the promotion of development tools, secondments, assignments, mentoring, coaching and internal opportunities. * Drive adherence to the Aon Performance & Reward Management processes and philosophy, calibrating performance through mid- and end-year for the business. * Demonstrate active Succession Planning through market mapping and the movement of high potential talent up through the business. * Drive adherence to Aon's Recruitment & Promotional processes, fostering discipline and transparency of approach within the business. * Improve Diversity profile of the business and focus on tangible actions to drive the D&I agenda in the business. * Responsibility for working in accordance with the Aon UK Limited Risk Management Framework, and compliance with the Aon UK Limited policies, including participation in the management of risks (including completion of mandatory training) that may adversely affect the business, interests or reputation of any Group Company. Thought Leadership * Build effective working relationships with internal and external stakeholders to ensure the best of Aon and the GBC are brought to clients and prospective clients * Fully embrace broader leadership responsibilities for supporting the talent excellence agenda and the apportioned regulatory risks * Act as a representative of and spokesperson for Aon, the GBC and the business on external industry bodies and in the media as required. Business Performance * Implement strategic and annual plans for the Team consistent with relevant targets including the core Aon targets ensuring plan are resourced, robust and in place to deliver year on year performance improvement Client / Network Engagement * Ensure the Client is at the heart of business propositions and practice and they are treated fairly and ethically. * Champion the deployment of Client Promise for direct client, ensuring that valid action plans are in place and delivered to agreed timelines. * Ensure network/clients receive best in class service in a cost-effective manner. * Client relationship management (direct clients and/or network). * Providing benchmarking and placement advice to clients. * Market relationship management. * Client meetings. * Produce and/or deliver tenders. * Present terms to client / network. * Provide technical wording advice to client/network. Placement & Systems Management * SPS design / placement. * Review / Create / Enhance Submission. * Review draft / final MRC. * Accountable for the sending of initial engagement to client/network, cover confirmation to client/network. * Accountable for record broking activity in market sheets.
