Duties & Responsibilities: You will be accountable for the effective delivery of key HS2 design elements to time, quality, budgetary and health and safety targets. Client focus is an extremely important aspect of the role; you will manage all aspects of the client relationship on your workstreams, so that delivery meets or exceeds client expectations. You will also be expected to develop your personal relationships with key members of the client's organisation. The role will be based in Birmingham, however willingness and ability to travel throughout the UK is required. Key responsibilities of this role include, but are not limited to: Delivery of project deliverables to budget and programme Communicating with team members to ensure they understand, and become engaged with, the project strategy, brief and client requirements Developing and managing the Project Programme and obtaining the buy-in of all stakeholders Working with the Commercial & Project Controls teams to ensure that effective financial and project management controls are in place and deployed to enable monitoring, modification and forecasting as appropriate Continually looking to enhance productivity through improved processes, procedures and systems Managing scope and project change Production of period progress reports Communicating effectively with all stakeholders to ensure all parties are kept informed on all relevant matters impacting and influencing delivery Acquisition, deployment and management of resources for the delivery of project workstreams to ensure optimal resource allocation for the project. Directing the assessment, selection and management of suppliers, sub-consultants and contractors associated with project Driving project performance, service delivery and technical and commercial outcomes and undertaking reviews, ensuring client delivery is above expectation Ensuring that completed engineering and documentation work is reviewed for technical, Arcadis and client compliance Ensuring risks are proactively identified, assessed and managed to avoid adverse impacts on the project Working to ensure maximum client satisfaction, championing client care and proactively working with the client Reviewing the performance of team members and providing support to their professional development Requirements: These roles are ideally suited to energetic, high achieving, career minded Project Managers, with a strong technical grounding in engineering design. To be considered for a role, you will need to demonstrate the following credentials: Minimum Academic Qualifications: Degree qualified in an engineering discipline Postgraduate qualifications in business, finance or project management an advantage but not essential Experience Required: Extensive project management experience in an engineering design or consultancy environment Sound commercial background, including familiarity with contractual conditions and procedures and ability to take commercial responsibility for a project UK Rail or Highway industry experience Experience of working in and leading multidisciplinary design teams Excellent client management skills Experienced in leading, and working with, people from varied backgrounds and cultures Excellent IT literacy, in particular Microsoft products & Primavera Design and build experience Why Arcadis?
