Join learning disability charity Brandon Trust as a bank support worker in Devizes and discover a genuinely rewarding role where working on a casual basis gives you flexibility. In this key worker role you'll support people with a learning disability, autism, or both, at home and in the community to live life more freely. You don't necessarily need experience as we provide full training. Alternatively you may have social care experience as a care assistant or care worker. You'll have flexibility and access to shifts that suit you; you could work for a day here and there, for a number of months, evenings only or weekends only. As this is a casual role shifts are not guaranteed. Coronavirus update: As a key worker, you'll provide essential services, and you'll receive full training, equipment and support. You will need to be available and able to carry out your role during the Coronavirus pandemic. You'll join our friendly teams, enabling people with learning disabilities to increase their independence; there's lots of variety. You'll support individuals in all aspects of daily living; from cooking to managing finances. Supporting people with their personal care and medication needs is also key. As a casual support worker you'll also support people to do things in their community; from shopping and going on day trips to sport and visiting day centres. If you're new to health and social care, we provide full training including the nationally recognised Care Certificate. Respectful of people's differences, you can build professional relationships and have a flexible approach. A full driving licence is essential for some roles. Before your first shift you'll complete the required essential training. You'll then start as a probationary bank worker, until you've completed all the relevant training and have worked the required probationary hours, during which time you'll receive plenty of support from our staff.
