Job Description

PURPOSE OF POSITION To provide engineering support along with service, repair and installation of products (immunoassay, chemistry and automation), in accordance with customer requirements. Diagnose system failures and determine most cost-effective resolution. Escalates complex issues as required for timely fix. Responds to customer support calls within an assigned territory with travel to other regions as required. KEY RESPONSIBLITIES * Reporting to the Field Service Supervisor, the Field Service Engineer provides onsite customer support and is the main face of the company to our customers * This position will be instrumental in providing a high level of support, requiring close interaction with the customer and colleagues to maintain a quality service * Adhere to customer focused strategies to achieve business objectives and maintain high levels of customer satisfaction * Installation and commissioning of solutions ensuring that the performance of the equipment meets technical specifications, and customer expectations * Ensure Preventative Maintenance Inspections and service modifications are completed in the specified time frames. * Provide field based technical support * Perform in-house and onsite product training * Build and maintain customer relationships in area of accountability * Maintain personal knowledge development * Ensure accuracy and timely completion of all paperwork and reports and maintain accurate car inventory * Carry out tasks that are reasonably requested REQUIREMENTS FOR THE POSITION * Minimum HNC (or equivalent) in relevant technical subject. Minimum 2 years field service experience, preferably in the Medical Diagnostics industry. * Knowledge and understanding of laboratory practices, including a knowledge of clinical chemistry, immunoassay and automation is preferable but not essential as full training will be supplied. * A self-motivated individual who has an enthusiastic approach to customer service and has excellent communication and interpersonal skills. * The ability to provide remote and on-site customer engineering support for respective product line(s) across UKI where required. * Continuously seek to add value to the services provided and achieve first time fixes, leading to reduced breakdown times, lower costs to customer, thus gaining customer satisfaction and retention. * IT literate, Good knowledge of Microsoft office products & confident with other IT applications * Adhere to all company policies and procedures. * Full UK driving license. * Full time, working days may include Saturday and Sunday as required to meet customer demands * Applicants should already be located in South Essex or North Kent, or looking to relocate to these areas.
