Job Description
Join Hearst Magazines as a Data Engineer working with our Consumer Data team! The team is rapidly growing and manages vast analytics and data pipeline that supports data driven, multi-channel marketing and insights. Focus of this role will be managing data pipeline by working closely with the Head of data, marketing teams and 3rd party data solution providers. You will be hands on technical expert, responsible for data flows in Oracle and cloud-based data platforms. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES: * Design and development of data models * Design, build and maintenance of data pipelines * Improving data reliability with the use of automation * ETL processing * Working on requirements on the business and making recommendations on how data should be structured to deliver optimal insight Day to day activities: * Liaise with internal stakeholders on ETL requirements and execute these requests * Liaise with agency partners to brief them on data model / structural changes require to execute ETL jobs * Liaise with 3rd party data suppliers to understand data structures / formats etc. * Assess and refine existing SSIS packages and automate where possible * Upkeep of data model documentation and educating data team on new data structures * Maintain process quality checks THE PERSON: * Strong SSIS skills * Strong SQL coding skills * Working with large data sets * Familiar with Python * Knowledge of ETL design and delivery * Familiar with AWS cloud-based solution * Manipulation of various kinds of data such as structured, unstructured, log files etc. Ideal Candidate: * Publisher / Media background * Knowledge of CRM and Digital marketing * Knowledge of Data visualisation tools such as Looker, Tableau, Power Bi etc. * 5+ years' experience in a similar role * Bachelor's degree
