Job Description
Salary: 38,000.00 per annum JOB OVERVIEW At Study Group we?re very excited about the forthcoming launch of our International Study Centre at Cardiff University. A member of the prestigious Russell Group, Cardiff University is renowned for its innovation and research and is located in a beautiful and thriving city. The Head of English will provide the leadership and vision to deliver excellent student success through the development of teaching, learning and assessment, and curriculum innovation in the field of Academic English Skills (AES); as well as maintaining quality assurance and enhancement that embeds outstanding collaborative working with both the University and the Study Group network. You will be responsible for leading and supporting a team of English tutors, ensuring that all Academic and English Skills (AES), English for Pre-Master?s (EPM) and English Language Preparation Programme (ELP) modules across all courses and programmes are delivered to a high standard; following the agreed curriculum and utilising agreed assessment modes, resulting in the best possible outcomes for students and the best possible student experience. Reporting to the Head of Centre, you will work closely with colleagues within and outside CISC and be accountable for the delivery of contractually required progression rates to the University. Critically, the successful candidate will need to carefully balance the requirements of the Centre alongside the need for compliance, consistency and collaboration with the University and Study Group as a whole. The successful applicant will support the Head of Centre in the overall management of CISC, consequently, applicants must have a proven track record of effectively and efficiently running a small to medium large sized academic department, with experience of managing different curriculum pathways, a number of direct reports and rigorous and robust quality assurance processes. Engaging and collaborating effectively with the Head of Curriculum and Progression and academic subject tutors is key to the success of the curriculum delivery, and the successful candidate should bring with them a strong desire to take a holistic approach to the student academic experience.
