Job Description
Releases Manager... permanent role in London. Digital Skills have an exciting new opportunity with a consultancy who require a Release Manager to join the Client Services team in this newly created role. You will contribute to the work of established customer-facing agile development teams & be involved in all aspects of managing the release process of our state of the art insurance industry software solutions. Main duties include: * Overall management of the process of deploying solutions * Establish a good working relationship with PMs and Test managers * Manage the production and distribution of all deployment-related artefacts. * Managing version control of all deploy-able artefacts. * Managing multiple simultaneous releases through environment hierarchies. * Contribute towards improvement by automation of day to day operations. * Managing Application, database & management servers as required. Skills and Experience * Experience as a release manager, preferably with a provider in financial services industry. * Experience deploying multi-component software solutions across multiple environments. * Experience with Infrastructure-as-code, CI/CD pipelines and high levels of automation * Scripting languages - PowerShell, ruby or python etc. * Experience with cloud environments (ideally AWS/Azure) * Experience in Deployment with Configuration management Tools like Puppet & Ansible * Experience in Devops Tools like Sonarqube, flywaydb, gitlab, Grafana, Docker, Packer, etc.. * Experience with monitoring and alerting tools (ElasticSearch/ELK, Graphite, Grafana, New Relic, Prometheus etc) * Experience using * Java application servers (JBoss, WebSphere, TomEE) * SQL and stored procedures (Oracle, SQL Server) * Testing frameworks and tools (JUnit, JMockit, Mockito, DbUnit, Cucumber,JBehave, Fitnesse, Selenium, WebDriver) * Version control tools (Subversion, Git) * Build tools (Ant, Maven, Gradle) * crucible, fisheye, bamboo, Jenkins, Hudson * Containerizing the applications using Docker/Rocktet About the client The client are a data specialist consultancy who work internationally. They are US based, however, growing rapidly in the UK and Europe. They are highly active in Financial Service (Banking and Insurance) as well as within Utilities, Transportation and Logistics and many other sectors. The client builds Data and BI solutions, using their unique platforms, helping to understand clients and business better by embedding Digital Intelligence. They are a large company with over 25,000 global employees. Package The client are offering an excellent salary, great pension and bonus schemes. You will be eligible for private healthcare, generous holiday and other benefits. The bonus is 15% to 20% on top of the great basic. The role is London based and will be 90% based from their London Office, there will only be occasional travel and the majority of the clients who you will interact with are also London based.
