Job Description

We have an exciting new opportunity for a mechanically biased Senior Project Engineer to join our team based at RAF Lakenheath. Reporting to the Project Manager, this is a permanent staff position with NG Bailey. In this role you will play a key part in leading the delivery of this project, being responsible for ensuring that all activities within your area of control are engineered to specification, and delivered safely, profitably and to customer satisfaction The Lakenheath project involves the fit out of a number of buildings to support a new aircraft fleet including accommodation and operational buildings. Security clearance for the site will need to be obtained once we appoint for this role. The overall project value will be in the region of 50-60M and expected completion is around the end of 2022. However, this role is part of a strategic aim to build resource in the region for a number of future projects. Responsibilities * Ensuring that our safety first and foremost message is visible and alive through all activities on the project * Participate in pre-commencement activities to maximise opportunities, efficiency and profitability * Review the project scope of works to ensure precise provision of the customer's requirements * Lead the identification of project risks and opportunities, and take responsibility to mitigate or enhance those in your control * Ensure engineering solutions are procured and delivered to financial and commercial objectives. * Provide accurate and timely information on site progress to the Project Manager and Commercial Lead * Manage any sub-contract resource if applicable. * Provide leadership to project team members within your area of control, maximising performance and ensuring objectives are met. * Build and maintain positive customer relationships * Ensure project is closed out in accordance with customer requirements, maximising project profitability Requirements * To be successful in this role you will have demonstrable building services experience in a similar role within a construction environment, with previous experience in the full lifecycle management of projects. * Industry recognised trade or professional qualification * Apprenticeship in mechanical discipline * Having previously held security clearance would be beneficial, though not essential Benefits * 25 days holiday per annum, plus bank holidays * Pension with a leading provider and up to 8% employer contribution * Private healthcare * Personal development programme * Flexible Benefits * Car/Car Allowance For more information, please apply with an up to date CV, detailing your salary/package expectations About Us We are one of the leading independent engineering and services businesses in the UK.
