What's special about this opportunity? Rowan Ward is a 20-bed ward caring for older adults with dementia-related illnesses. We boast fantastic facilities, designed to promote the independence and relaxation of our patients. These include: A cinema room; activity rooms; calming lighting and colour schemes; two therapeutically designed garden areas; a garden room; a weekly pop-up pub, which serves non-alcoholic drinks to patients, family and carers, providing a relaxed and nostalgic environment in which to chat; craft activities, creative writing and yoga; access to a gym. About you: You are an enthusiastic registered nurse with experience within Mental Health, learning disabilities or general nursing who has a passion for caring for vulnerable patients. With excellent communication and people skills, a warm personality and the resilience to help us transform our patients' lives, you will have a good understanding of acute mental health treatment and legislation. Eager to share your knowledge when managing and mentoring more junior members of staff, you will be an inspirational member of our team, striving to be your very best and supporting colleagues in the delivery of compassionate, safe and structured care. You will be proactive, ensuring seamless delivery across a multi-disciplinary team and be able to work without direct supervision, showing initiative and a determination to support patients and their families through creative engagement. A calming influence, you will be able to deal with difficult and distressing situations professionally.
