Job Description
We have an exciting opportunity for a Ward Manager to join either our Oncology Inpatients Ward OR Oncology & Haematology Outpatient Unit. This post will be located at The London Clinic's Duchess of Devonshire Wing (Cancer Centre) based in Central London (Close to Regents Park or Baker Street tube stations). The London Clinic is one of the UK's largest independently owned non-profit hospital, and our Duchess of Devonshire Wing includes state-of-the-art radiotherapy, chemotherapy suites and 47 dedicated patient bedrooms for Oncology & Haematology patients. Our Oncology Inpatients Ward comprises of 18 beds, all in separate, private en-suite rooms, and our Oncology & Haematology Outpatient department comprises of 22 individual areas for outpatient treatment. We treat a range of cancers including; Brain, Pancreatic, Cervical, Head & Neck, Bowel, Lung, Prostate, Bladder, Neuroendocrine, Skin, and Uterine cancer, and our patients attend for day case chemotherapy and related treatments and/or consultant appointments. Within our Outpatients unit we also have 5 apheresis machines, where donors/patients attend for peripheral blood stem cell donation. Job Description The Oncology Ward Manager will help provide a learning culture, delivering evidenced based practice and co-ordinating the multidisciplinary teams to provide a high-quality patient experience. They will lead in clinical practice in the department, ensuring that clinical standards are upheld and best practice is followed at all times. The Ward Manager will work closely with the relevant key stake holders in upholding high standards and reputation of the London Clinic through the Clinic's Vision and Values. They will set the standards and ensure that the team meet departmental objectives, and seeing that delivering a positive patient experience remains the central focus of the service. * We are offering a full time, permanent position, working 37.5 hours a week. * This position offers a competitive salary, between 43,659 - 52,641per annum (depending upon experience and skills.) * The London Clinic also offer a comprehensive benefits package including: contribution pension scheme; Private Medical Healthcare; 25 day's annual leave; season ticket travel loan and a wide range of discounts with a variety of retailers and services. Duties & Responsibilities * Oversee the running of the Oncology Service. * Work closely with the Oncology Fellow team and the Critical Care Unit Outreach team in identifying those patients at risk. * Act as a positive role model for the team * To create a rota that maximises the capability and competence available on each shift, according to the needs of the service. To ensure optimum usage of available manpower resources and adequate cover throughout the working day * Undertake any other projects or duties as agreed with Matron or the Manager of the unit.
