**CITI** **CB Associate, PSG** **Citigroup Centre, 25 CANADA SQUARE CANARY WHARF, WEST INDIA DOCKS LONDON** **Competitive Salary Offered** **Closing date: 16th June 2020** **Job Purpose** The CB Associate, PSG role is intended to support the senior bankers in the PSG industry team in London, as well as selective support for bankers undertaking PSG work in our countries across the region. Associates are also expected to provide oversight, management, guidance and training for the analysts in the team. The role will involve an amount of direct and electronic client interaction with various levels of government officials **Job Background** The Public Sector Group serves the financial services needs of Citi's government and public sector clients around the region. In most cases these clients are our host governments in the many presence countries for our EMEA network, although we also have a non-presence country PSG client set as well. The clients cover (i) central government ministries and departments (especially Ministries of Finance with responsibility for national financial management and Ministries of Foreign Affairs with responsibility for a country's overseas activities including the embassies and aid activities), (ii) central banks, (iii) development banks and supranational organisations and (iv) non-governmental organisations (NGOs) such as large aid groups. In most countries, the public sector is the largest sector of the economy which offers a wide variety of opportunities for Citi to serve those public sector entities. **Key Responsibilities:** Assist in managing the BCMA relationships for EMEA public sector clients: + Support senior bankers in developing relationship with Central Government teams as well as with key administrative bodies + Engage daily with clients to deliver Citi's full product set (flow and episodic) + Develop and maintain knowledge of the developments in the core product set to explore and refer opportunities + Maintain regular and frequent dialogue with product partners to deliver against the client agenda + Interact with Citi's PSG network around the globe to ensure activities and origination work streams are coordinated across the franchise + Client Management including assisting in developing appropriate credit strategies and attending client meetings and presentations as appropriate in managing day to day relations + Risk assessment and credit analysis for transactions + Develop specific client content addressing our clients' key operational and strategic challenges (such as privatisations, commodities hedging, efficient frontier, reserves management, development banks, cat bonds, etc.). This requires high levels of client interaction, coordination across PSG Coverage and Segment Seniors and Product partners, as well as quantitative and analytical acumen + Provide support to the regional Public Sector Head, with regards to origination efforts, transaction execution and day to day management of compliance, relationship, marketing and operational matters. + Act as primary touch point with local Banking, Markets, TTS and regional Banking teams, as well as coordinate origination efforts with CMO and Markets team, + Day to day tasks will include developing ad hoc materials in local language, lead credit approval and compliance processes, support business selection, contribute to specific content creation Act as Member of deal team for the origination and execution of episodic and flow transactions: + Provide top notch sovereign financial analysis both for internal and marketing purposes + Produce best in class presentations + Coordinate the contribution of different partners within the firm (Investment Banking, TTS, CMO, Markets, Risk and local coverage teams) and the PSG Global segment organisation + Drive transaction execution alongside Product teams and internal coordination The associate will develop (i) in-depth understanding of the dynamics of the business, (ii) an understanding of clients' priorities with the aim of identifying appropriate marketing opportunities and (iii) strong relationships internally with key product, risk and regional partners **Knowledge/Experience:** + Prior experience in Corporate and Investment Banking, with specific transaction and operational experience on DCM and Markets a plus + Demonstrate a working knowledge of a broad spectrum of products and how they meet client needs + Experience with various clients, capital markets products, derivatives, credit, cash management, trade, finance and securities + Credit trained, used to taking a lead role in establishing the creditworthiness of counterparties + Experienced at client planning and coordinating input from multiple product areas + Strong knowledge of Accounting and Corporate Finance + Advanced Financial Modelling experience + Understanding of the Public Sector industry, global macroeconomic and political challenges **Qualifications:** + Banking background gained from a reputable firm where yo
