Job Description

Infrastructure Engineer Location : London Our client is an IT organisation serving a private portfolio of international businesses principally focused on shipping, real estate, energy, banking and investments, located in central London and New York. Their business interests span Europe, North America, Australasia, the Near East and Asia. Responsibilities · Network and Security Operations · Manages and administers the day-to-day operations of the Local and Wide Area Network and VoIP systems. · Maintenance and management of on-premise equipment. · Provide design, engineering, and architectural support to manage the network infrastructure, including technical requirements, analysis, design, and implementation of WAN, LAN, and VoIP. · Install, configure, administer, and maintain all Aruba switches, Ubiquiti Wireless Access Points, and Palo Alto and Fortinet Firewalls. · Be a member of the Office365 security team. · Provide Level 2/3 network support and troubleshooting. · Analyse existing operations and make recommendations for the improvement and growth of the infrastructure. · Establish pro-active monitoring & optimal network performance. · Property Standards and Implementations · Assist in the creation of property technology standards. · Lead the planning, design, and implementation of network, firewalls, telco, and security systems in new or refurbished properties based on property technology standards. · Vendor management (Low Voltage, Security, etc.) · Digital/Cloud Evolution · Contribute to our ongoing on-premise to cloud migration, to minimize our on-premise environment. · Decommissioning of on-premise equipment as appropriate. · Participate in Office 365 migration/implementation; managing Microsoft updates, assessing the impact on the group. · Maintaining security of Office 365 configuration once the integration is complete. · Administration of Group standardisation for the Office 365 configuration and administration. · Acceptance of new Office 365 features into service. · Other Responsibilities · Deliver on a variety of technology projects. · Document workflow and processes. · Establish and maintain Change Management processes. · Other duties and responsibilities as assigned. · Operational Infrastructure Support · Maintenance and management of remaining on prem infrastructure (firewalls, networks etc) · 3rd line infrastructure support · Out of hours on call rota supporting 24x7 operating business More About You · Strong business stakeholder management. · Professional and positive, with good customer-facing practices. · Analytical and diligent, with attention to detail. · Resilient: The ability to cope successfully under pressure and with shifting priorities. · Articulate, transparent, with excellent communication skills in both written and spoken English. · Effective collaborator and communicator at all levels, who use their initiative and shares skills. · Be a self-motivated, self-sufficient, enthusiastic team player. · Achieve results and targets - "Can do attitude" with initiative and drive. · Be willing to travel - locally and internationally, as required. Experience and Qualifications · Experience in Physical Networking. · PowerShell scripting · VMware, Veeam, Aruba Switches, Fibre switches, Network Technologies, Firewalls. · Have Knowledge and experience with cybersecurity technologies such as Mimecast, Darktrace. · Microsoft 365 (SharePoint/Teams/MS Office/Office 365/Enterprise Security/Intune/MDM/MAM). · Windows 10 / Windows 2016/ Mac / Linux. · Telephony (PBX / Mobile / VOIP, A/V systems (audio-visual). · Hands-on experience with cloud technologies such as Azure and AWS. · Active Directory Azure and On-Premise Active Directory, GPO, Exchange/Exchange Online, SQL · Experience with authentication and single sign-on tools such as OKTA and Microsoft Azure Active Directory. · A degree in computer science or related technical field with a minimum of 5 years of proven in-depth infrastructure experience is preferred.
