Reporting into the Retail Director of Brand and Marketing, the Head of SSE Brand Marketing has two main functions as the OVO business moved through the integration of the SSE business into our retail function. Firstly this role is responsible for the short to medium term delivery of all SSE Brand Marketing and brand management, and the maintenance of brand health in a tough commercial trading environment for the SSE Energy Services business (Energy, Lettings, HES and Telco). Secondly, following the acquisition of the SSE business, OVO has the rights to the SSE brand for 4 years. There is therefore a necessity to consider long term brand portfolio strategy carefully and to plan accordingly. This role will be responsible for the development of a new brand approach ready for the exit of the SSE brand and the staging of marketing and brand projects to lead us towards that final point. What will I be doing? * Leading a small brand team to manage and maintain the SSE brand and ensure minimal impact to the 3.5m customers as we move through a period of significant change within our business * Lead the management of brand consistency across the SSE experience as we plan to change the digital experience for our SSE customers and migrate them onto a new system * Oversight and guardianship of the SSE brand, visual narrative and tone of voice across all touchpoints ensuring that it is consistent and that a consistent level of brand experience is maintained. Working with cross functional teams to ensure success * Responsible for the monitoring and maintenance of current levels of brand consideration within current SSE customers via the delivery of strong brand narrative across existing touchpoints (with a very limited short term marketing spend) * Providing counsel and guidance to the leadership team on the health of the SSE brand and working with the strategy and insight team to define the correct approach to maintaining brand health through time * Working alongside the head of Brand Strategy and Insight and other key individuals to develop the strategic approach to the brand strategy portfolio * Laying down a pathway through change and managing the cross functional teams as they move through each stage of change * Acting as an advisor to operational and commercial teams as they execute change and manage rebranding of elements of the existing portfolio * Supporting the Director of Brand and Communications and working with the Head of Brand Strategy and Insight as well as broader leadership to develop longer term strategic plans for the SSE brand portfolio and to guide the business through the execution of these plans Is this the job for me? * A combination of strategic, creative and commercial skills honed over 10+ years working with large, creative brands * Strong experience of working with fast paced, technology service brands in matrix environments * A clear and well developed understanding of how brands are built and maintained and how precisely they contribute to the commercial success of an organisation * Experience in the delivery of brand change programs and the management of customer experience within that change * An ability to work closely and pragmatically with operational and commercial teams to maintain a brand experience within a commercially focused landscape * Experience in large scale brand change and an astute grasp of the complexities associated with these changes across an organisation * A strategic and practical approach to branding and rebranding customer journeys * A trusted and immediately welcomed partner in a peer to peer working environment as well as being a trusted right hand to director and c-suite brand leaders * A great team player comfortable working at high pace in ambiguous environment and energised by change OVO believes in fueling human progress with clean and abundant energy for all.
