Job Title: Assistant Accountant (Europe) Job type: Permanent Location: London Head Office, Holborn Reporting Relationship: European Financial Controller Argus is a fast-growing global B2B media company providing essential information on commodity markets. Job Purpose Due to the continued growth of the business, we are looking for a capable Assistant Accountant to support our Finance team in handling European finance responsibilities. In this role, you will swiftly develop an understanding of the business operations to take responsibility for your tasks as well as providing support to the wider Finance team and helping to develop the accounting processes. Key responsibilities * General accruals - Posting and reconciliation * Balance sheet reconciliations * Processing of manual and automatic journals in NetSuite ERP system. * Support the European Financial Controller in the preparation of the month-end group reporting * Investigation of month end expense variances as required * Support the preparation of the year-end group and subsidiary financial statements audits * Support the Finance team on ad hoc projects Skills and Experience * Proven experience of general accounting within a busy, international Finance team * Strong IT skills in particular Excel including Vlookup, pivot tables * Excellent attention to detail * Good communication skills * Courteous, friendly and a positive can-do attitude * Knowledge of NetSuite and database processing an advantage About Argus Media Argus is an independent media organisation with over 1,000 staff.
