Job Description

In the role of Senior Systems Data Protection and Storage Engineer: * Configuration, allocation, and management of centralized storage systems and other deployed storage solutions * Help develop or engineer new solutions related to data storage and access * Recommend what type of storage solution to deploy * Implementation of new storage technologies - tapeless, cloud storage etc. * Automating processes and overall selection of data protection methodologies * Updating any obsolete sections of the data storage, management, and access network * Keeping records of upgrades and proposed system upgrades that will streamline data handling * Partnering with the Cyber Security Risk and Compliance organization to ensure appropriate handling of data storage and resolution of audit findings Qualifications/Requirements: * Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or in a "STEM" Major (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math) from an accredited college or university (OR High School Diploma / GED from an accredited school or institution with a minimum 7 years of experience along with established leadership across the discipline and function) * Minimum 5 years of experience along with established leadership across the discipline and function Desired Characteristics: * Aptitude, experience and/or passion for the creation and execution of an enterprise-grade storage & backup team & environment Technical Requirements * Extensive experience in storage Operations management, backup systems, SAN, NAS, DR * Working knowledge of systems from major data storage vendors and cloud services * Working knowledge of technical aspects of storage systems - including but not limited to DAS, NAS, Fiber Channel, RAID config, LUN Masking * Process improvement and storage provisioning automation * Experience with security and compliance requirements of running enterprise storage and backup environment * Troubleshooting experience and ability to fulfill L3+ support Business Acumen * Ability to set targets, execute a plan, and deliver results * Ability to plan and provide structure and organization in a fast-paced, changing environment * Effectively manages risk and uncertainty * Strong business analysis and problem-solving skills * Ability to decompose problems and make decisions when problems or solutions are not 100% defined * Evaluates products & processes to assure compliance * Measures the impact of trends (cyclical or a shift) and modifies plans accordingly Leadership * Demonstrated experience leading and influencing across a complex, global matrix organization * Proactively identifies and removes project obstacles or barriers on behalf of the team * Uses critical thinking skills and disciplined approaches to help leaders and leadership teams resolve issues and define solutions * Produces an environment that empowers teams and allows for autonomous execution Personal Attributes * Proactively engages with cross-functional teams to resolve issues and design solutions using critical thinking and analytical skills and best practices * Excellent written and oral communication skills and the ability to interface with senior leadership with confidence and clarity * Influences and energizes others toward the common vision and goal * Maintains excitement for a process and drives toward success in the face of unfavorable odds and setbacks * Commitment, Perseverance, Passion!
