" Telecoms Estimator, Basildon (Permanent) An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Estimator. We would love to hear from you if you have civils and fibre network experience within a telecom's/utilities environment. You'll be working in a part of telent that is dedicated to transforming the way support is delivered nationwide to Openreach and other external network providers. Role Profile: Reporting into the Chief Engineer, you will be responsible for fully supporting bid and proposal submissions and the production of timely, high-quality, and ultimately successful, bids for the undertaking of civils & cabling works for both new & upgrading of existing fibre broadband networks. Typical Deliverables: \t * Provide full support & direction around rate item coverage, inclusions & exclusions, risk & opportunities, disallowed costs, preliminaries costings, to ensure rate build-up and resultant forecast margins are fully understood. \t * Post bid submission support including preparation of bid presentations. Support bid and proposal reviews - won & lost - including lessons learned & recommendations for improvement. \t * Continued liaison with Commercial & Operational leads throughout contract build durations to support production and maintenance of a record of "lessons learned" ensuring that such data is highlighted through the bid stage of any further tender invitations. \t * Provide pricing support to project teams, when necessary, for additional rates & variation quotations required as part of the contract requirement Business Operations Skills - Experience: \t * Experienced in the support and development of bid-winning strategies. \t * Knowledge of the supply base and the negotiation of time duration, inclusions and exclusions, and rates for each activity. \t * Possess sound working knowledge of varying forms of contract in-particular NEC3/4 engineering & construction contracts Business Operations Skills - Qualifications: \t * The successful candidate should be educated to degree/HNC/HND education or equivalent & possess previous relevant experience at the required level. \t * Demonstrate working knowledge of tender pricing for utilities-based contracts in the highways \t * Advanced IT skills across the Microsoft Suite Excellent employee benefits: telent is committed to ensuring that we offer industry leading career opportunities, salary and benefits packages.
