We have an exciting opportunity for Lead Apheresis Nurse (Band 7 equivalent) to join our Cancer Services Team at our Duchess of Devonshire Wing, London, W1G 6JA. Our main hospital spans 8 floors comprising of 234 beds and 10 theatres, and The Duchess of Devonshire Wing is our award-winning cancer centre,which includes state-of-the-art radiotherapy, chemotherapy suites and 47 dedicated patient bedrooms for Oncology & Haematology patients. Job Description The London Clinic provides Peripheral Blood Stem Cell collections (PBSC) for various registries, as well as for The Clinic's patients undergoing stem cell transplants. The Lead Apheresis Nurse will work with relevant key stake holders in ensuring that the service provision is of quality and is in line with the set- standards by Clinic and the external regulatory bodies. They will ensure that the apheresis practice is based on current evidence, staff competencies and the mandatory training is up to date. This is a full time, permanent position, working 37.5 hours a week. The inclusive salary range for this position is 34,509 - 42,691 per annum, depending upon skills and experiences. Duties & Responsibilities * To provide specialist knowledge, expertise and care for patients and donors. * To provide specialist training within apheresis area as required. * To maintain the specialist apheresis service in accordance with service requirements, quality management, JACIE and Human Tissue Authority. * To ensure that the pre-collection donor/ patient medical assessment is complete prior to both autologous and allogenic stem cell collections. * To provide patient information for apheresis procedures and ensure that informed consent has been obtained. * Undertake any other projects or duties as agreed with Matron or the Manager of the unit.
