Job Description
Role and Responsibilities MAIN PURPOSE OF ROLE: Lead large scale, complex system programmes and execution work for CAE (UK) plc. To lead and manage the assigned programme/project, working with the customer to achieve of the specification on time and within budget. This will also include the leadership, coordination and execution all IPT/BD activities in support to the assigned programme/project, and ensure successful capture as defined in the CAE Lead to Award process. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES : * Plan, direct and control activities to accomplish budgeted financial objectives, flawless delivery and customer satisfaction by ensuring adherence to contractual requirements for schedule performance and quality. * Lead all IPT/BD activities in support to the assigned programme/project, and ensure successful capture as defined in the CAE Lead to Award process. * Provides day-to-day leadership for team members * Develop and report on key performance indicators (KPI) consisting of Regional Business Unit view as well as consolidated view. * Establish and maintain overall project/programme plan, establishing project/programme organisation, managing and controlling the project/programme, communication of project/programme status. * Ensure good relationship with the customer and counter parts in CAE's subsidiaries, closely coordinate project development with business partner's expectations. * Coordinate with all departments involved (engineering, operation, project management, technical services, legal, etc.) and communicate status and ongoing issues to senior management. * Follow up all schedules and deliverables for all departments involved in all assigned projects. * Generate additional business by interfacing directly with the customer to shape/refine/modify requirements, resulting in engineering change requests. * Any other duties as may be required. QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE: * Experience in Military Programme Management and a high-level understanding of financial management. * Experience of managing large complex projects for a number of years. * Demonstrated understanding and track record of earned value management (EVM). * Business acumen is essential. * Commercial knowledge and experience is essential. * Experience of coordinating assignments and workload of project managers and project administrators. * Knowledge of Regulatory requirements for Flight Operation would be an advantage. * Experience in international programmes with complex global commercial arrangements specifically Joint Ventures would be an advantage. * Knowledge of security requirements up to SECRET and an understanding of Cross Domain Security would be an advantage. * Programme management competencies: ability to coordinate work and follow-up on schedule, cost control, result oriented, and ability to evaluate and make trade-offs decisions during programme to meet objectives. * Managing people: able to build and motivate a team as well as able to establish good relationship with client and third parties. * Customer focus: dedicated to meeting client expectations, sensitive to concerns with various stakeholders (internal and external). * Strong communication and interpersonal skills are required. * Strong planning and organisational skills. * Good PC skills and proficient in Microsoft Office Products. * Knowledge of ITAR and export control restrictions. SPECIAL FEATURES: * Applicants must be able to live and work in the EU/EEC/UK. * Some activities will require travel, both in the UK and overseas, which could be at short notice and some anti-social hours of work may be required. * Will be expected to work whatever hours required to complete the project on time and within budget. * Must be able to obtain or transfer Security Clearance which the Company sponsors (applicants must have lived continuously in the UK for the past 5 years in order to obtain security clearance) or currently holds NATO SC level Security Clearance that can be transferred from overseas to the UK.
