Job Description

BenevolentAI, founded in 2013, creates and applies AI technologies to transform the way medicines are discovered and developed. BenevolentAI seeks to improve patients lives by applying technology designed to generate better data decision making and in doing so lower drug development costs, decrease failure rates and increase the speed at which medicines are generated. The company has developed the Benevolent Platform - a discovery platform used by BenevolentAI scientists to find new ways to treat disease and personalise drugs to patients. BenevolentAI is HQd in London with a research facility in Cambridge (UK) and further offices in New York and Antwerp. BenevolentAI has active R&D drug programs from discovery to Phase II in disease areas such as ALS, Ulcerative Colitis and Sarcopenia. The role As a cyber security engineer, you will be working within a small information security team to plan, build and run security services for the organisation. You will be responsible for developing company-wide security procedures and standards, providing threat assessments, and implementing effective security controls to protect company assets. You will be expected to collaborate across all business units promoting effective security practices, providing consultancy on cyber security issues, and staying up to date with industry standards. Primary responsibilities * Contribute and develop ideas around cyber security technologies and solutions * Support engineering and IT teams to implement effective security controls to protect company assets. * Provide security solutions for endpoint, on-premise, and public cloud environments * Drive the remediation of identified vulnerabilities. * Security system administration, supporting multiple platforms and applications * Support onboarding on new operational security services * Ensure compliance with regulatory and organizational standards. * Prepare and document standards, operating and support procedures * Conduct security threat assessments and threat modelling. * Contribute and support the implementation of testing to verify the security of systems, and cloud applications. Were looking for someone with... * Expert knowledge of one or more of the following: firewalls, TCP/IP, network IDS/IPS, host based IDS/IPS, endpoint and network based DLP, web proxies, email protection, endpoint protection software. * Sound knowledge of enterprise security concepts/frameworks and products, secure design principles and patterns * Monitor, tune and develop technical Security controls and frameworks to ensure appropriate preparation, monitoring and response to threats * Knowledge of network protocols, data flows, and their vulnerabilities. * Demonstrated experience with one or more cloud technologies: Amazon AWS (preferred), Microsoft Azure * Knowledge of Kubernetes and its key security practices. * Experience in cloud security automation * Experience with Security frameworks (NIST, ISO, CIS) Qualifications and Experience * Computer Science degree or related experience * 2+ years experience in a related security role Preferred (not required) Qualifications * GIAC certifications (GPPA,GCED, or similar) * AWS Certified Security Who are we?
