Job Description
Job Title Curriculum Editor Job Description Kaplan Test Prep is the leading provider of coaching courses, tutoring and self-study books for standardised exams such as IELTS, TOEFL, GMAT and SAT. Kaplan ensures a high standard of content and product quality for its students around the world. Purpose of the Role: The Curriculum Editor will divide their time between editorial duties, project management and supervising writers for Kaplan Test Prep products for English language proficiency exams, such as retail books, instructor-led courses and online products. The Curriculum Editor will also be responsible for recruiting and training part-time writers and editors to support content development and manage the workflow for other Kaplan Test Prep products created by our UK-based team. Finally, the Curriculum Editor will consult with partner teams to ensure an optimal experience for students as they prepare for their English language proficiency exams . The Curriculum Editor will help to drive student success and satisfaction by working with the product, technical, publishing, operations, marketing and other Kaplan Test Prep teams to ensure successful launches, delivery and maintenance of products. Responsibilities: Design products for a wide range of English language proficiency exams, including but not limited to products for the TOEFL, IELTS, TOEIC, PTE and OET. The Curriculum Editor will be expected to: * Develop and edit content for retail publications, instructor-led courses, online products and other preparation programmes for English language proficiency and other programmes. * Manage teams of writers to generate instructional, practice and in-format test content. * Recruit and train part-time and freelance content writers and editors . * Manage the content creation workflow for our UK-based curriculum team, including writing, editing, proofreading, database entry, content exporting and quality assurance . * Consult on the design of digital products and assets, including online instruction, both live and asynchronous, and video content. Requirements: * Experience writing and editing practice and in-format test content for English language proficiency exams such as TOEFL and IELTS, either for the test-maker or for an exam preparation provider * Experience teaching or tutoring multiple English language proficiency exams * Experience with both in person and online instruction preferred * Experience with learning management systems or other asynchronous learning tools * Experience managing projects * Line management experience helpful * Ability to work well on a team, including colleagues who are both office-based and remote * Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and concurrently manage competing projects, priorities and stakeholders Location London, UK Additional Locations Employee Type Employee Job Functional Area Content/Material Creation Kaplan is an Equal Opportunity Employer
