Overview

Head of Employee Relations Permanent, London c. £120,000 20% bonus Are you a specialist in Employee Relations and want to take ownership of a functional area? Network HR have been instructed on a search to appoint a Head of Employee Relations to lead across (UK & EMEA) for an excellent Financial Services firm based in London. The ideal candidate will have ex practice experience with a commercial and pragmatic approach to complex case management. You will also drive resolution of matters including disciplinaries, grievances, employee consultation process, TUPE, mediation process etc. This appointment will play an integral part in the global HR leadership team and will take a lead on coaching and advising business heads and stakeholders on effective intervention & remediation for complex cases. Key responsibilities will include: o Management of complex Employee Relations cases including providing recommendations to senior leaders on risk assessment, strategy and approach o Subject matter expertise in the knowledge and application of employment law, HR policy and process o Demonstration of handling disciplinary, grievance and redundancy processes from start to finish including knowledge and experience of documentation/interview procedures for Employee Relations investigations. Documentation of investigatory findings and conclusions and responding to allegations o Involvement in strategic Employee Relations projects, acting as the point of contact within the Advisory team for policy development and regulatory related projects related to conduct risk o Develop HR capability to understand and apply employment law, policies and practices. Ensure consistency and manage risks through ongoing support and training o Evaluating and assessing employee relation trends arising within business areas using data and analytics to identify emerging themes o Provision of training and education sessions to employees and managers on both a formal and informal basis as required and maintaining professional understanding of the changing legislative environment o Ability to build and maintain relationships throughout the organisation and partner with the business/wider HR function in order to resolve complex ER cases o Knowledge and experience within a regulated and organisationally complex environment o Oversight of ER spend including monitoring and tracking of spend to ensure efficient spend, seeking opportunities to reduce cost and manage risk for the firm wherever possible o Relationship management with relevant external vendors including external Legal o Employment law background preferred Ideal candidate background: • Financial services experience is a necessity • Internal ER expertise • Sound decision making and demonstrable experience of pragmatic decision making • Experience of working closely with HR Business Partners and SLT • An ability to operate at both a strategic and operational level This is a fantastic opportunity working for an international financial services client that offer high end, boutique style office environments and working for an inspirational senior leader.
