Our company has a keen focus on our culture and we go to great lengths to ensure that we all enjoy what we do POSITION SCOPE To supervise all area assigned Packing Operations on shift, to ensure safety, quality, and achievement of production and optimum OEE targets. ROLES & RESPONSIBILITIES Manage the performance and daily activities of Operator Maintainers and Technicians on shift ensuring safety, quality standards and production targets are achieved with all losses captured and reported Plan operational labour resources and optimise its deployment on a shift basis to maximise productivity, including overtime plans and commitments Ensure regular and consistent communication to teams and individuals through shift meetings, briefing sessions and running handovers Investigate all performance, misconduct and absent issues in line with Company procedures Facilitate training and probation performance monitoring of Operator Maintainers on shift in line with Company procedures Coordination of production orders and management of inventory via SAP. Use knowledge and experience to advise and assist operators on how to optimise line performance and troubleshoot issues Oversee and assist the optimisation of production line product change overs to reduce downtime and ensure that all materials are staged and available to maintain uptime on all packing lines Monitor scheduled and reactive line maintenance to minimise production downtime Demonstrate initiative in seeking to continuously improve performance (safety, quality, line efficiency, cost) Ensure involvement with the area’s Continuous Improvement Program by leading projects, monitoring performance and supporting the team Provide verification of training to ensure that all Operator Maintainers are trained, safe and capable for assigned work details. ESSENTIAL CAPABILITIES (KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ABILITIES AND PERSONAL ATTRIBUTES) Strong team member and leadership skills High level of numeracy & literacy Attention to detail and accuracy Good computer skills with the ability to use Microsoft Office suite (Word, Excel, Outlook) and production based SAP systems Good organisational skills and ability to multitask Self-motivated with a desire for personal and process development Sound communication skills, verbal and written to liaise with packing team and department Good appreciation and/or experience of Packing Operations, including high-speed lines Understanding of problem solving techniques and ability to use available resources to rectify problems Planning skills to ensure routine activities can be completed ESSENTIAL WORK EXPERIENCES Previous experience working in a food manufacturing environment DESIRABLE WORK EXPERIENCES Supervisory experience within a packing/production environment Continuous improvement experience
