IT Systems Administrator / Junior Developer (DevOps) £23-30K dep exp Benefits Role will suit a candidate with 2-3 years IT experience gained in manufacturing or an IT Graduate with a few years of experience. General Purpose of Role : The role will cover a combination of programming / development (generally web based – PHP / HTML / MSSQL) and general IT system admin duties including everything from desktop, servers, networks and beyond. You’ll be expected to offer outstanding customer service as a first priority and to be an active member of the IT team, ensuring the maximum availability of computers and related services throughout the business and to support the IT Manager as required. Shared Responsibilities : In house Software Development · Primarily using PHP / HTML / Javascript · Integration with MSSQL · Various ongoing projects Issue Troubleshooting · Troubleshooting at all levels, from desktops to servers and networks and everything in between. · Ability to research issues and be persistent in trying to find solutions. · Good communication skills Housekeeping ( with reference to the Daily Housekeeping Policy) · Check status of backups and replication · Check integrity of applications and infrastructure · Check physical machine environments · Check error logs and reports · Check antivirus software · Noting anything of issue and raise in daily housekeeping review PC’s or Laptops (with reference to PC Set-Up Guide) · Maintenance and compliance with software policy and licences · Maintenance of Asset Register · Install and set up any networks required · Installation of additional hardware required i.e Memory, Hard drives etc · Installation of standard software i.e Office Suite, Syspro etc · Install all patches / updates as required · Creation and maintenance of user profiles Telephony · Set-up of company mobiles and configuration of internal phone system Support · Recording of issues in Ticket System and ensuring issues addressed or escalated · Running weekly Ticket Review Meeting · Issues can relate to mobile phones, desktop phones, remote users, printers, Wi-Fi, PC equipment, network, servers, hardware, software anything that makes up the IT landscape · Meeting Room equipment and software · Creation and ongoing maintenance of documentation / ‘How To Guides’ where required. · Liase with group IT support as necessary General · IT Supplies Control and Order · Training where required · Compliance with all group policies and initiatives IT Environment · Assist with the management of server and infrastructure, performance, including security, upgrades, patching, investigation and resolution of issues, network monitoring and management Extended Support · To document processes or procedures for the How To Guides, to enable the team to handle support issues more effectively · Involvement with group IT to investigate issues related to central services · To escalate issues as required to our external support partners Outcomes of Role : Happy customers - provide efficient and effective d ep l oyment, monitoring, maintenance, deve l opment, upgrade, and support of a l l IT systems, inc l uding servers, PC’s, operating systems, hardware, software and periphera l s.
