IT Systems Support Great opportunity to join this Global Manufacturer Caerphilly area Outstanding customer service - To be an active member of the department ensuring the maximum availability of computer and related services throughout the. To support the IT Manager as required. £25-28,000 dep on experience Benefits · Check status of backups and replication, integrity of applications and infrastructure · Check physical machine environments, error logs and reports · Check antivirus software,n oting anything of issue and raise in daily housekeeping review PC’s or Laptops · Maintenance and compliance with software policy and licences, Maintenance of Asset Register · Install and set up any networks required, Installation of additional hardware required · Installation of standard software i.e Office Suite, Syspro etc · Install all patches / updates as required, c reation and maintenance of user profiles Telephony · Set-up of company mobiles and configuration of internal phone system Support (customer service is king) · Recording of issues in Ticket System and ensuring issues addressed or escalated · Running weekly Ticket Review Meeting · Issues can relate to mobile phones, desktop phones, remote users, printers, Wi-Fi, PC equipment, network, servers, hardware, software, anything that makes up the IT landscape · Meeting Room equipment and software · Liaise with group IT support as necessary IT Environment · Assist with the management of server and infrastructure, performance, including security, upgrades, patching, investigation and resolution of issues, network monitoring and management Development · To work with the IT Manager and key employees to explore, define and document enhancements and new developments. · To work with the IT Manager in complying with customer requests and initiatives Extended Support · To document processes or procedures for the How To Guides, to enable the team to handle support issues more effectively · Involvement with group IT to investigate issues related to central services · To escalate issues as required to our external support partners Outcomes of Role : Happy customers - provide efficient and effective d ep l oyment, monitoring, maintenance, deve l opment, upgrade, and support of a l l IT systems, inc l uding servers, PC’s, operating systems, hardware, software and periphera l s. No surprises – all policies complied with. Person Specification The job role requires an analytical approach to everything with an eye for detail. Required: Administration of Microsoft Networks – Physical and Virtual, Microsoft Servers, Microsoft Desktop Operating Systems. Administration of Firewalls, SQL Server Databases, EDI, ERP Systems. SQL Server Development, Web Development, Programming Skills desirable. Previous Work Experience :T Systems Administrator Ideally to have worked in a manufacturing or assembly business although not essential and used to dealing with users and user issues, in particular, complex issues and requirements Not suitable for people with first line support experience gained in call centres. This is a third line support role. Specific Knowledge / Skills Competence IT Systems Administrator Ideally MS certified support engineer although relevant experience will be given a higher weighting SQL Server, Windows Server Hyper-V, Syspro or ERP Systems SharePoint or Business Intelligence Tools, Mail Servers Analysis Services, Reporting Services, Integration Services Office and Office 365, Networking Software development – PHP/HTML IT Systems Administrator can travel to work from Cardiff, Caerphilly, Pontypridd, Newport, Blackwood, Cwmbran This job was originally posted as www.totaljobs.com/job/89741551
