Overview Mallard Outsourcing are proudly partnering a local authority as they seek to add an RTPI-accredited Senior Development Management Officer to their planning team. Duties of the Senior Development Management Officer include, but are not limited to the following: - Providing specialist pre-application technical advice on matters of planning permission and other related consents and determinations. - Effectively processing planning permission applications and other related consents and determinations, and if necessary, handling appeals. - Liaising with internal and external stakeholders (including colleagues, other public sector organisations, the public, agents, developers, landowners, residents etc) throughout the planning application process. - Contributing to the formulation and delivery of planning policies. - Attending meetings with internal and external stakeholders. - Implementing the vision and objectives of the organisation. The requirements, skills & experience required for the Senior Development Management Officer include, but are not limited to the following: - You’ll be an experienced Town Planner with strong knowledge of planning legislation and Government planning guidelines. - Past experience in a local authority environment would be beneficial but a private practice would also be appropriate. - You’ll hold an RTPI-accredited qualification. - You’ll be knowledgeable on S106 Agreements. - You’ll be knowledgeable on Environmental Impact Assessments. - You’ll have experience in handling a wide range of planning and consent applications of varying complexity and scale from pre-application stage, through application and possible appeal. - You’ll have excellent written and verbal communication skills and strong IT skills.
