Job Description

Senior Quantity Surveyor We are looking for a Senior Quantity Surveyor to join our Infrastructure Services team on our Cambridgeshire Highways in Huntingdon. Cambridgeshire Highways (2017-2027) is a contract with Cambridgeshire County Council to deliver the maintenance and improvement schemes for the County of Cambridgeshire. The contract commenced in July 2017 and we are looking to strengthen our team by appointment of a Senior Quantity Surveyor. Working at Skanska as a Senior Quantity Surveyor you'll maximise and protect the company's commercial position by management of the commercial and administrative functions in respect of the highways framework on both capital and revenue works. You'll: Support the operations team in delivery of the target cost schemes and preliminary design estimates Correct cost capture for target costs schemes Provide feedback to Estimator on actual costs Work with the operations team to prepare clear and accurate quarterly forecasts for the target cost schemes Manage and record changes including submission and agreement of early warning notices compensation events and quotations Submit monthly applications to the client, ensuring payment is received Agree final accounts for target cost schemes Manage risk & opportunity Manage monthly cost and value reconciliation Carry out procurement and management of supply chain Manage direct reports including annual performance reviews Identify and promote sustainable alternatives to deliver schemes through contractors' proposals and improve efficiencies / KPI's demonstrating value for money Ensure compliance with Skanska standards and procedures in respect of commercial activities We're looking for: Degree or equivalent level qualification in Quantity Surveying or related construction subject Qualified or working towards a CICES or RICS accreditation Relevant CSCS Card Commercial experience within the construction industry at Senior Quantity Surveyor level Skilled negotiator and communicator Previous line management experience Good knowledge of the NEC suite of contracts Knowledge of Microsoft Office Knowledge of planning software Our infrastructure services team delivers projects that maintain and enhance the built environment.
